Default Targa NZ / Targa Tour

I'm out of Targa Tour too. While I technically did exceed their 160kph limit "11 times on the first day", a review of the data from the TrackIT GPS tracker they made us use showed that had Targa applied the same 10kph discretion as our friends in blue, I would have sped a grand total of once (and that was only 12kph over the 160). Them telling everyone the next morning that I was "clearly taking the p*ss" was rather OTT and worked out to a forced donation of about $500 per second that I went more than 10 kph over.
Little violins and all that, and I am capable of keeping the car under a given speed, but I am not capable of properly enjoying a (bloody expensive) Targa Tour in something with supercar acceleration while having to be my own speed **** to that degree.

Despite getting the short end of that stick, and Targa's tour leader markedly buttoning off the pace several times in most stages which killed a fair bit of the buzz that was left, I'd still say the NZ Targa Tour is worth doing once.

Targa NZ are the only ones out there doing this, and I hope it continues, but I wish I'd done it back in its glory days instead.

Default Targa Tour versus 2Kcup

Thankfully 2KCup don't fine people like that for exceeding 160, or I'd be well out of pocket for transgressing that magic Targa number in RSG's humble '93 1.8L Integra on every one of last Saturday's 40 action-packed laps...

And I'm keen to try some new lines in the Grinch if she's free. Also just waitlisted with the yellow beast for the RSG 14 November track day.

Should be fine with that. I will do the playday on 14/11 in bb2 as well. Happy to share the costs/days with other owners. We all need seat time.

Not keen on the 12th of December? Would be great to have yours, Pel's and my Turbos out for a battle (am sure you'd be in front but like the idea of trying to keep up!).

That does sound very tempting Jake, but unless two of our other drivers are campaigning RSG's 2KCup cars at Pukekohe that day, I'll likely be battling for points over there. So I guess I'm saying I'll probably need to make a fairly late call on attending the December day at HD. If you and Pel can make the November one though we can look to keep each other honest there. With something like 8 or 9 on the waitlist already I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some magic to happen.

It'll be interesting after running HD in an Integra the last few meets - wouldn't pay to use a Honda braking point for the Turbo...
