Probably best to leave it a few days as they haven't yet nailed everything down....

Paul, what's the progress on your engine? I see you are down for the 9th.

Peter, did you get the place on the 8th?

Dunno - I emailed Stu (Aero Automotive) on Friday for an update and haven't heard anything.

Last time we spoke about 2 weeks ago, I was told we were OK for the end of the month.

Hopefully I'll have the c4 out. I need you to take it for a few laps to get a sense of pace with a good driver and to sort out where the handling is at.

With the SI tour, I was talking to Tony about this 12 months ago, they were trying to do a 2013 trip. At the time, they where talking about transporting cars down and transporting home, obviously you would drive between venues.

Personally - I'd like the transporter option, as I couldn't take the time (and probably wouldn't) want to spend 4 days driving down and back. Much easier to spend an 1.40 on a plane and turn up refreshed and ready to go!

Im always in for a good road trip. Especially in NZ summer. But yes that's their intention for clients that are happy to pay for it. It wont be cheap probably around $500+ each way...

As the word is getting out and lots of Porsche people are starting to go there, he's getting spread too thin to spend time on my car!!! - so if anyone asks - he's crap!!!

Seriously - very good and down to earth guy. He's ex Conti's and Francis Tuthill when on his OE. He really knows his stuff, is reasonably priced and easy to talk to.

I rate him very highly.

There are lots of good Pcar mechanic's (Stu, Steve R, Jon Warring, Conti's etc.). You just need to develop a relationship with one.

In my case - I work with Stu.

In Sean's case it's Steve R and in your case Macca - Conti's..........

You'd spend that in gas and the inter Islander.

Accommodation vs. airfares would be neutral.

Macca - this time next week we will be drunk in some dodgy bar in the Cross......

(err having watched a fab days racing) - really looking forward to it.

At that price it wouldn't be a bad deal. Assuming direct from Auckland to Invercargill, you're looking at $400 for petrol plus $115 ferry each way if you drive.

That's good to hear. We need more like him!

Yes. Dean Huston has been a personal friend for a decade and young Rob is the only tech allowed to touch my car. They pick it up and deliver it and I get very well looked after. Very happy there. Its all about relationship as you say....

Paul I cant wait. I hope they sell fridge magnets. I have a collection!
