I'm doing the research now as I don't want to use spacers. Given I already have the tyres this is very cost effective. Maybe $2,250 to end up like this.
That's a gorgeous combo - looks spot on on a 964!

I asked Pete B about the 993 steering brace if using 18s. His reply was that he'd never had to do it and never had an issue with any of the 964 based race cars running 18s.

Good info, thanks.

Now I have to work out what spoiler components are required to get me back to standard.

Welcome (back)! This corner has been a bit more active of late with a few new cars purchased, all sorts of mods and a bit of a track group having been established. Always keen to hear impressions of other cars - 996 GT3 seems
to be on a few radars.

There was a Fraser at the last track outing - had only just been rebuilt after going into the wall at turn 4 at HD. The owner's mate was driving - expensive!! Great toys though.

Peter Booth may be right. There is a mention of 18"s on standard 964s on the .pdf wheel article for 964s which I attached in an earlier post for you 964 fellas along with wheel weights. There's a tonne of threads on the 964 board

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...1991-964s.html

Anyway it was only $50 if I recall so I didnt take any chances and had it fitted....

John. Love the image of the white 964. My only thoughts are that the RH Allude and Veloce three piece wheels are not the lightest or strongest for track/targa applications. They are purdy tho. I went with Kerscher after talking to some regular track junkies at Nurbirgring (in 2007) running them on 964s. They said they were lighter than the speedlines and stronger and better quality than the RH & Veloce offerings but that they would not recommend them for fast road work where there are potholes as they will run out of true. Guess what....after 3000 km on the Targa I have four wheels no longer perfectly round! Same goes with BBS or any three piece design I am told.

That all said I still reckon they are the sexiest wheel for the 964. Id probably live with having them occasionally straightened just for the optics...

Not sure if you still have the "donkeys ears" side mirrors on your new 964 but I think updating these to the later "tear drop" ones is one off the best immediate optical enhancements you can make to the 964 (no offence meant to donkeys ears owners!)....

Macca, no donkey ears on my car.

Just won a Trade me bitsa auction. A bargain at $40. Amongst the parts is a primary muffler. I'm going to add weight and take out the primary bypass. That and the 200 lbs I have on top of a C2 means I can put some heavier wheels on without too much guilt. My wife is going dollar for dollar on this car, need to watch my pennies.

John. What is wrong with the primary bypass pipe? Wouldn't this improve power?

Nothing per se with the product [I think it's RUF] except noise. I suspect this car has a lightened flywheel. That in concert with a steep driveway means I'm reving hard to get into the garage and making a racket in the process. With three 911s in the garage I don't need the attention. I will keep the part though.

You need to talk to us first. I have a primary in the garage that I would have given you! I love how the bypass sounds though!

The primary was the major part, however I also wanted the Hydraulic pressure switch. I have a warning going off that clears and doesn't come back on. A faulty pressure switch is one possible cause. Believe me they are more than $40...

What else have you got hidden away there? Maybe a spare spoiler?

All my FedEx packages waiting for me in Auckland. Lots of rubber trim. Also putting the C4 badge back on it.

For the record, right now I have a spare cat, secondary muffler, 2 H4 headlights (silver lining stuffed on one). Side air vent. Rear lap seatbelt (not legal but it held down the child seat well a while back).

I need a spoiler (gp white). I'm also looking at getting front brake ducts to replace the techart fog/brake combo. One of mine is broken.
