I'm sure I've seen you two at the track before at some event, the M looks real familiar, maybe at that last LSR PCA event down at MSR Houston ?

No. We could not make that event. We were doing the BMW club race school at TWS. We have the yellow 997.2 gt3 and white E92 M3 and now a SM.

Awesome. Always good to put a face with a name. And I don't know too many fast Vikings...or slow ones, for that matter.

Yes, I have a right seat and you are welcome to ride any time.

Actually my best going CCW on NT01's was 1:54.904

That session was apparently not amongst the ones I left in the TraqMate when you took delivery of the car. I had already downloaded it and two other sessions of mid to high 1:55's.

Best CCW with the Hankooks was 1:53.200

One is on NT01s the other on Z214s. The Z214s are good for about 1.5 seconds at TWS with the same driver on that car. My bests have a similar spread. 2:00.7 TWS CCW on the Z214s and 2:02.3 TWS CCW (IIRC).

The Z214s on that car are like freaking magic until they heat cycle out.

Ahhhh, gotcha, I reread it and it makes sense now. I'm use to Hoosiers but have run on just about every tire made. Either way there is time left in you going CW, and I'm sure CCW also. Nothing real big, just little tweaks, but a few little tweaks adds up quick. My saying is "that a tenth of a second per corner is nothing and hardly noticable to most, but at a track like TWS with 15 turns that's a 1.5 seconds per lap improvement".
So that will be my goal with you, just a tenth of a second, per corner.

Right. And the fact is, I set up the suspension with the Hankooks, and the car has too much spring for the NT01's, so its handling is less than ideal with them.

Are the Kooks really that much different than the NT01's ?
I know they are slightly softer, and obviously have slightly less tread. I'm more often on Hoosiers, various slicks, or spec Toyo tires, I guess I'm going to have to pay more attention the next time I drive a car with Kooks.

Yes. it surprised me. The Hankooks have very stiff sidewalls and the suspension I had on the car was perfectly matched for them. I suspect it would also work really well with R7's. The stiffness of the car tends to overwhelm the NT01's, especially in the rear, even when the dampers were softened dramatically.
