Yes, a good cost-effective solution to add a more visible display!

Do you guys/Gals, also get a quick "spark" as you attach your Powermax power supply to the front battery posts....or battery ? I think this is "in rush" current to the power supply.....and not terribly bad. ??....but it bugs me. I have heard that some will introduce an old school light tester pen.....to slow down the inrush....and eliminate the "Spark" , remove it, then connect, thoughts ?

Hey @Willy07, here you go.

Just used some fishing line and looped it between the cooling slats

Easily seen from within the car since it's facing the vehicle whilst the actual OEM gauge is on the opposite side facing the wall.

@siberian How close do the two read out track each other?

TBH I don't really know as the OEM digital readout can't be seen unless you stand above the unit. Also I'm not sure whether the OEM one reads the SET voltage vs the DRAWN voltage. My little add on just taps the supply ports thus the drawn one.

In these images the readout is showing set voltage of 13.8 (for LiFePO4 batteries) but as it's not connected to anything it's showing set voltage.

I must admit, I didn't think of looking at the OEM display when I took the pics, but I would assume since it's not connected to the vehicle it would show the same - set voltage of 13.6v.

No worries, just curious, the PIWIS shows the battery voltage while you are connected, I have not done any real work because I don't have a proper supply to connect to the car, as we know a battery maintainer is nowhere near powerful enough for any extend coding session or even trouble shooting.

Indeed, but when you're busy on PIWIS going through menus, you or I should say I tend to focus on the task at hand not icons on the top of the screen that are "informational" vs what I'm trying to do. This way, if I see the voltage start to drop on the instrument cluster, I can look up and see what is currently being drawn. Another MUST, is of course, turning off the DRLs, PCM, Fans etc. A good PowerMax 75 or 100A is a must have, cash well spent before bling add-ons. IMHO of course, YMMV

PS Of course since you're just across the border give a buzz and come over, you can use mine.

Just wanna butt in here and note that I was having trouble with a newly fixed PCM and amp from Becker Auto Sound... @rnlst_log went above and beyond to help me troubleshoot and get things going, via the PIWIS and general wiring tracing. It was actually a super silly issue, but we got it all figured out. What a guy!!

I wish there were Rennlist awards we could give to those who go above and beyond. I asked and, alas, there aren't. If there were, he'd definitely be at the top of all forums.

Agree, @Schnave belongs on that list, in the 9Y0 section.

no doubt. I think he has either pieced one of these cars together like a Lego set, or he's actually an AI 🤣
