My first ever car was a 1970 Mustang, I purchased it with 109,000 miles. 351 Cleveland. My grandfather sold cars for a Ford dealership most of his life, and took the first 1965 Mustang hardtop they received. So, the whole thing is kinda nice.
Very cool! Congrats!

Ford really has a winner with the GT350. I'm very envious of your GT3 RS and still amazed how this Ford can cast its spell on so many. Grabber Blue is a great color.

You guys make sure you or your dealer are torque wrenching the filter after an oil change - someone lost an engine this summer because the dealer tightened it by hand - filter got loose on Road Atlanta and he's out an engine.

Filter itself says around 16-18lbs I beliieve, i've been told you want to do more like 22lbs. This is one of the most powerful flat plane crank V8's in production, everything needs to be rock solid tight.

I saw this car at the dealer I just purchased mine from.

And it's not an isolated case... dealers can make the same mistake: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Ford...6903711043104/

200 mile report with pulled resonators.

1) The exhaust note is much more crisp, the exotic/race car sounds are what gets amplified once you pull them, significantly improved.

2) The car feels as if it is faster, the engine/throttle response especially seems far better- I'm guessing it's not on paper anyway but the sound is telling me it is.

3) Normal mode is still V6 hybrid quiet as before. You can shut all of it off, quite impressive the difference in sound.

4) 3k-5k rpm is a lot nastier - you don't need to get into the 5k-8krpm range to hear the insanity.

5) Going full throttle and letting off the gas in the 6-8k range it sounds like someone is shooting a machine gun out your window, it's outrageous. Can't believe this is street legal.

6) It's basically the cup car sound I was hoping for just like the GT350R-C at IMSA.

Thanks for the report. I'm guessing it's probably not street legal. That's why it says "Track Only" when selecting Sport mode for the exhaust.

Had to check one of these out so went over to a Ford dealer in west LA. They had a 2016 Tech Package and 2017 base on the showroom floor. I don't know if I could get over how large the car is, couldn't pull the trigger without driving one. I did like the seat and steering wheel adjustment. Non Recaros are comfortable and seem to have good support.

Here's the rub.....mark-up was 19k on the 2016 and 22k on the 2017. I laughed at the sales guy when he asked if we could make a deal if he could get me a nice amount for my trade (997). Uh....sure guy, you've got a bit of room there, huh? Anyway one of these was from a dealer in Oklahoma. If I work the phones will dealers in the Midwest sell for MSRP?

With some work you should be able to find one at MSRP at this point.

MSRP is doable an both 16/17 models. Hang out on Mustang6g and they pop up frequently. You do need to be ready to pull the trigger when it happens though. IF you ever think you might want to track your GT350 stay away from the 16 Base and Tech packages without the extra coolers. All the 17's have the extra coolers so not an issue with them.

Yup what he said - only buy 15/16 GT350 Track Pack or R versions (both rare). 2017 cooling options are standard in all models.
