Even though RL is Porsche centric, most of the folks here just love cars! So IMO: it is OK to like the "new" Ford Mustang and everything that it represents.
My first new car coming out of college was a 1986 Mustang SVO (100% loan - the American way! And the Ford dealer could not give that car away versus the GT).
My first Porsche was a new 1993 RS America (again borrowed money and Porsche could not give them away)!
Fast forward 30 years older, I own 6 911's and 2 'Stangs. My incoming GT350R checks the box for me. I have no interest in anything else, just nostalgic and narrow minded...
All the best...

Oh it will be as fast i'm sure (until limp mode kicks in). And you can bet they will be selling for below MSRP when they launch (nothing really innovative about the car).
If the ZL1 had an exotic motor, stunning looks and wasn't based off a cheesy Michael Bay movie I might then like it a little.

Let's just see how GM prices it. It is not 'worth' as much as a GT350/R for the very reasons you state and then some. For my American musclecars I actually somewhat prefer they are mostly straightline dragsters - even though that has changed from the old musclecar era.
Maybe I just need a Hellcat...

He forgot to mention the most important info! Lap time?
Have anyone got confirmation on build date for their 2017? My build is in the system but waiting to hear from Ford for build date.

I have a '17 GT350R on order as well. I hope to get more info soon on expected delivery. I was told I'll get info in May.
The wait is painful. I am hoping to track it this year. Might not be likely given the Chicago weather.

Thanks guys, I guess we are all waiting for build dates then.
I'm not familiar with how Ford handles their allocations . Guessing big dealers gets the first batch of builds?
