They are on every corner where I live, and make for one of the most disappointing track cars in automotive history. The gentleman at NOLA MS had quite a rant about it when I asked him how he liked his new Z06 (this was just before he got a CEL and stormed off at 11am) - and I read the same complaints on the forums over and over - everyone is dumping them.
Grandsport is a strong buy.
They do sound good with an exhaust.

GM has acknowledged the cooling concern and will look to address starting the 2017 model.
Having driven both the 350 and Z06, I will take the Z any day. The only thing I like about the 350 is the sound. Apart from which it is just a 3800 lbs tub on steroids. That's a honest opinion from a guy who's actively owned M3's in the past and tracked them all.
The 350 is a great car in its category and let's leave it that. Had it been 500lbs lighter well then that's a different convo.

I don't fit in a Corvette so moot point, but anyone I know that got a Z06 sold it due to limp mode in 2 laps.
Send me any leads for an loaded R.
Anyone have one in South Florida I can test sit in?
Or do they sit the same a a normal mustang?

If you are more than 6 ft 200pds it's a horrible fit.I'm 6ft 235 and it's very uncomfortable.

Btw, GM bought my C7 Z06 due to continuing limp mode they were unable to fix even after a GM engineer flew down to resolve. I owned it for 16mos and track it 16x....by the 10th track day it kept on limping after 12mins on the track. Mine was always track-prepared per GM guidelines. In short... lemon law due to voluntary buyback. A long azz process though so I wouldn't want to repeat that experience. And every stock Z06 owner I tracked with ALL experienced (or still experiencing) limp mode issues. All of them. Sebring, Homestead, PBIR, Daytona... All of them.
Yes, my Z06 was faster than my GT350. But good for like what... 2-3 laps before pitting in due to limping out there. Meanwhile the GT350 bone stock can still do a full happy hour at the end of the day even after 4 sessions beforehand. So guess which one I really have fun with?
It sucks but the Z06 = 1 lap wonder... while the GT350 = full day fun. Bittersweet for me since I liked my Z06 ALOT! Hope GM resolves this for My2017 as supposedly promised.

I can't spark personally as to the heat soak issue but I do know there are tune or down loads that resolve the problem but again GM apparently will void the warranty.
I suspect it's GM being selfish in trying to reduce warranty claims with an over protective ecu while at the same time marketing the car as a great track weapon which it is if they allow it to be and stop worrying about warranty issues.
Unfair to buyers but I suspect most buyers spend more time at show and shines anyway.

No one I know is dumping a Z06. It's a legendary car with enormous track capabilities for the money. I know a few BMW Performance Center instructors who have them and absolutely adore them. You cannot put the 350 in the same league as a GT car or Z06.

The GT350 is a much more sought after sports car.

For what its worth, there is a much higher incidence of heat soak with the automatic tranny Z06's. There are also aftermarket fixes available to fix the issues (which I agree should not be needed on a 100k car marketed as the most track-ready Vette ever). Per the Vette forums, not all Z06's experience the issues. The guys with problems are obviously the most vocal. Having driven both, I am actively looking for a manual tranny Z06.
These cars are not in the same league as one another. New Z06's are selling at a 20% discount from MSRP due to over-production and guys holding off to see what the 17 fixes are. With current 350(r) market adjustments, a manual tranny Z06 is a no-brainer to me. And it REALLY shouldn't be for anyone that isn't tracking the vehicle (I plan to track mine). I liked the 350, but didn't love it. For me, the interior and size really let the car down.
