MGW makes a great short throw if you require that but out of the box it is indeed very good. Once you get past the 100/1000 mile break in procedure i'm interested to hear what you think of that sound when shifting at 8,250 rpm - a vicious crack resonates which each high rpm shift - nothing like it.

I also like that Ford offers very good 5 year and 8 year warranty plans for this car. Track it for years with no worries.
The gearbox was a let down for me on the 991 GTS as it was so numb and isolated. The 997 was much more connected for sure. Here in Canada, I didn't get a choice of an extended warranty as it is a 'special' car. Nonetheless, the consumables - from 19" tires to ceramic brakes - are way cheaper.

What is a 100/1000 break in procedure?

So Ford recommends per the manual - first 100 miles to vary the speeds and if i'm not mistaken no high rpm shifts. Next recommendation is no track days until first 1,000 miles reached.

The manual doesn't actually say no high rpm shifts below 100 mi, it says no wide open throttle. But to me, WOT also implies high rpm shifts. So I guess it's up to interpretation.

Then it says no track use until after 1k miles. Again, nothing specific about rpms, but I'm waiting until after 1k miles before I redline my car. I'm at just over 800 miles now and did a few 7k rpm shifts today for the first time. Can't wait to cross 1k so I can experience the feeling of 8250 rpm!

My gt350 goes into production this week. ETA early October. Perfect timing for track season in Florida.

I did a few higher rpm shifts after the first 100 miles but definitely took it easy until I arrived at my first track day with exactly 1,006 miles. I'm at 10,741 miles now and the car drives better than ever - feels bulletproof.

See you soon just look for the slow Black with Black roof GT350.

As for break in we all have our own ways of doing it. My favorite is taking it to AutoX which I did with 138 miles. As for redline not yet but have definently let it roar a little. My only restrictions are no lugging and no long pulls in higher gears.

Default Panel Gaps and Alignment

Anyone have any awful body panel gaps?

For those of you tracking the cars, are you using the recommended alignment specs in the manual insert? (IIRC Camber -1.75 front, -1.25 rear)

Hopefully sooner. I'll definitely take it to Road Atlanta for the Chin thanksgiving event.

Will be fun. I'll call you when I get my car and would really appreciate some set up help? Is yours still the way Ford set it up from the factory?

Bone stock with the steering wheel still slightly off center. Body gaps aren't bad but for $56k I can live with it. As for alignment still running as delivered. Tire rollover wasn't bad at AutoX will take some tire temps at PBIR on the 27th.

Yeah I had one fender which was way off but it is fixed now. Car is fun no matter the gaps

The other common problem in this car is the front chin splitter coming loose at high speeds, damaging itself, the bumper, and possibly undercarriage. I have seen several different reports. Its all due to incorrect installation I believe. I would just double check before tracking the car.
