But still not an R per se.
Yes, but $20k will buy a lot of track time to get faster then the Average R owner

You bring it to TNIA in May at PBIR??

Oh that's true... no denying that. I had my Track Pack w/ MPSS one passing R's with Cups. Same with spec Miatas... some have easily passed me in corners like a rabbit. As you know the big factor is about driver mod. But my TP was still not an R.

Anyway, nope likely not at PBIR... I'm eyeing the annual Track Guys again at Sebring on Memorial weekend but I depends on family/travel scheds. No rush.

This is the only reason I'd want an R, cuz it's an R. If it weren't for the rarity and hence ADMs, the vast majority of us GT350 owners would be in the R. But given the difficulty getting an R at a reasonable price, the normal GT350 is a no brainer.

My Track Pack offers more than enough capability for my level of track skills. Cup2's & lightweight Forgelines, plus rear seat delete, will get my car close enough to an R if I ever feel the need. I know that will never make it an R, but that's perfectly fine with me. Just as I'd love to be in a 991.2 GT3, I'd love to have a GT350R, but my GT350 Track Pack keeps me more than satisfied.

Bossing - Congrats again on your RR R! That, plus a 991.2 GT3 allocation, is the stuff of dreams for some of us mere mortals. (Not to mention all your other cars. LOL.)

I'm not a VIP but I am a repeat customer... got that GT4 last year at msrp and the .2 Carrera with a nice discount so loyalty has its perks. The funny thing is the Mgr even told me they were reserved an allocation for me 2 weeks before I even asked but couldn't be revealed to me right away! Now my build freezes in June with a build target in July and estimated early Sept delivery.. yikes that's around the corner!

And yes there is nothing wrong with a Track Pack GT350 spec.... still a fun highly capable car!

2) Grip/balance (Cup2 tires obviously, lighter feel due to less unpsrung weight, R's MRide tuning feels sportier even in normal mode)
3) Rarity/limited/desirability plus the R has more aggressive style & looks the part and hey it's an R after all... so oh yeah those CF wheels. Nuff said.

Capiche?
Congrats and that is great to hear!! My first choice in color, but I had to have the stripes.

At MSRP you cannot put enough upgrades on a TP and beat the value of the R - especially resale.

All in good fun though I'm not going to convince anybody the regular GT350 is a better car for the $$$ over a $10k+ ADM R. A set of 19 x 11" rims square and 305/30 19 SC2 tires and an equal driver will be within 1 sec at Sebring. So for less than $2k in Rims I will be within sneezing distance of an R for $20k less.

I hear ya! Before I went through all of that with my '16 Track Pack, I landed a '17 R at MSRP. So, financially it was a better decision. Otherwise, I would do what you are doing.

At MSRP the GT350R is a much better deal than a MSRP Track Pack and much more rare so it will at the very least hold value or likely appreciate - fantastic machine.
