Thoughts on the new corvette?

Looks good...but the distance from the rear edge of the door to the rear wheel arch looks too big to me.

Chinese Ferraris are going 0-60 in under 3 seconds for 60k?

I think they hit a home run and the sportscar industry will be all the better because of it.
When the z06 version comes out in a year with 650+ hp, mid engine and 3550... It will be a true force to be reckoned with on the track.
While I will miss the nasty big front engine hp, you can't deny the handling benefits of mid engine!
Cheers to good competition!
Best Regards,
Dave

I actually think it will be over 700hp and around $85k and using dual overhead cam V8 with twin turbos. Not many cars can lap the Ring in under 7 minutes and cost 5-figures. I just wish the styling was better (this is free).

Sounds like you're threatened by it.

Although it's not on the spec sheet yet, a MT is available on the 992, at least according to the sales manager at my local Porsche dealership. The curb weight of a 992 is in the range of 3340 - 3605. So I'm assuming that the 3340 is with a MT, but you could be right. It could be the weight with PDK.

Looks like a nsx knock off to me on exterior. Plus the set up 100 continuous buttons in **** pit might be confusing. I do like that the center screen that faces driver though .to each his own

If I fit in it (Do fit in C6, not C7) and the Z51 is track hardened sufficiently this time, it would be a very fun car to play with for the money.
I just think it will be more on track problems that maybe they will eventually fix..

Well done. Very tempting and warrants a look. Now can GM build it?

I think this car probably just devalued a whole swath of new and used performance cars... perhaps the most impacted of course is any unsold C7 Vette
For those buying new, cars like the Supra, Cayman, F-Type have all become ridiculously irrelevant. For those who don't care about the badge, not sure why I'd want to spend a whole boatload on a mid-engined Ferrari or Lambo with this car being an alternative.
All that they're missing is a MT option.
