None of the broken cars had any seizure. Driveable but without 3rd gear. It's just spinning on shaft I guess.

Day 78 of the car down from the broken 3rd gear, and my replacement trans just finally arrived at the dealer... BROKEN in transit. They said they need to re-order, and Germany is now out of stock.

Fan-frickin-tastic, Porsche...

Aren't these transmission broken in shipping costing Porsche $10k in parts cost alone??

Wow. That's at least 4 replacement gearboxes damaged in transit, by my grocery store math. This....must....stop.....

Is November 2015 about the time they started a new round of allocations to build more cars? That's about when my SA asked me if I wanted a build slot after telling me 2 weeks prior there were no more.

I don't know, but this is the post I was referring to regarding a possible change in November.

There is a rumor that there was a manu change around Nov 2015 that caused the issue, but that's just a rumor. I do know of a pre-Nov15 GT4 with 20k TRACK MILES with aggressive suspension, Hoosiers and ~420 HP that is still on the original gearbox - the car gets thrashed.I may know more on this today.See my info above about pre-Nov, but it is just a rumor.

Interestingly, I am pushing for some availability action, and I may have a gearbox in short order (tomorrow) according to prelim reports... but I will believe it when I see it. More info to come today, but I think there are some very interesting recent developments on the production side.

Yes, that remains an option at any time. Lemon law qualifier is 30 days out of service, and I'm way past that.

As much as I'm struggling to cope with the absolute lack of quality control in " high end " expensive cars of today,I find the numerous cases in which transmissions got damaged during shipping completely retarded and wasteful!

Under buy back are they obligated to pay for anything like PPF or paint correction? Or do they simply refund your purchase price?

Unclear... but they have to pay back your taxes / fees as well as any mark-up paid on the car (my understanding, anyway). Basically, undo the purchase transaction. But if others know more, please share.

This describes the process well in CA:

I sent my 6gt3 tranny in an igloo too and fro to Copans- no issues. What Porsche packages it with(duct tape or similar?) or how they drop ship it ie drop it out of the plane still on flight? Mind boggling. Mike

I threatened a buyback with a Audi TTRS for a Sirius radio they couldn't get to work after three attempts . The next day a manager from Sirius called me and fixed it over the phone.

Maybe its time to play hardball . Remember when you get them by their bal-s their hearts and minds will follow.IF they think they may have to buy back 20+ cars @ $100k+ over a $2,000,000 write off not to mention the bad press maybe some transmissions will mysteriously show up? carl

Check your state laws what is and isn't allowed, if it includes non OEM. CA seems to be the most liberal from what I've seen on forums.

P.S.
I stayed at a Holiday Inn last weekend.
