My dealer made no mention of why. Similar repair process that others have had. Gear box goes to Germany. Dealer gets a new one. I have several pages of notes on what the process was, with the bottom line showing a $12k warranty repair.

With the way you drive, I'm surprised it took that long. Your epic videos and quick lap times show how to really push this car with consistency.

Hope the wait is short for anyone dealing with this.

thanks, guys. I know Porsche will do the right thing. It's just a question of how long it will take to get the replacement. I know it's taken months for some people....

swing by mooty's cave you know he's stockpiling

all generations have their gremlins. some more serious than others. i'd much rather have a 3rd gear go than a ticking time bomb motor....

Somewhere in the early page of this thread I posted a picture of the weak link.

I'm curious if the new "fixed" transmissions have a spline 3rd, or just better welding...

Very sorry to hear. I've read your responses in both threads. 19 track days.

How many miles? Track vs street miles?
What tires are you running?

Hoping you get a quick fix!

About 7000 total miles. Probably 2000 track miles. Re71r Bridgestone

If memory serves, about ~18%.

Customer Circus is oblivious. And they won't publicly admit the problem or issue TSB until the bitter end. This is the domain of the bean counters.

Sorry to hear, but I hope repair times start getting shorter.

THIS... is the $12k question. I would have to think, that they will be improved one way or another. The new gearboxes have an updated part number, so something changed.
