Impressive time for 982 Cayman S and this car is putting down very comparable top speed on back straight hitting 143mph which is within 2mph of 981 GT4.
Did some 'driver mods' over winter. This was 4 (!!) seconds better than my previous best, much more in the car than I originally thought. Theoretical best lap from AIM data for the weekend was 2:05.7, so still need to put down the optimal lap.
Side note - My friend kindly let me drive his 718 GT4 PDK for a session, car had some suspension mods on 265/295 Hoosiers. Noticeably stronger than the 981 particularly at the top of the rev range. I think that car has low 2:xx in it for sure.

718 on Hoosiers in cold weather on a dry track should be able to break 2:00

I suspect a stock 981 on Cup2's has about another second in it from my best lap, possibly even high 2:04's. A pro driver has lapped my other friends 718 manual on Hoosiers in at least the very low 2:xx's so its certainly plausible. The 718 has a much higher starting performance potential I think. I only ran one session in it with no timing, but even excluding the huge amount of extra grip the power was noticeable.
Was at NCM for SCCA Time Trial Nationals and ran a 2:14 on Falken 660's. Had a 2:13 lap going Sunday, but missed my braking on 1 and 10 and ended up 0.1 slower. Still set the new lap record for Max 3.

Great to see you running there! I did a 2:24 (in traffic on worn out PSC2s) way back in 2017 and I don't think anyone one has posted a lap from NCM until now. Very fun track that takes a half day or more to get your bearings. So many turns - and a really cool museum too.

Yeah, I love that track, wish I lived closer. It's been a year since I've been there and only get to run a handful of laps during TT. Let a lot of time of the table.
You were flying through deception, especially on worn out tires. I've watched several of your videos, when get ready for a track.
Hopefully Weswood will post his laps from TT. He was running 2:11s on A7's.
Was looking at this thread at VIR times to see where I stood, but saw 24Chromium was #1 there and on a lot of the tracks on the leaderboard. I saw he passed away recently on the DE sub board. May his lap time stand for a long time. RIP.

Sad to hear this as he made me faster at Road ATL as I tired to chase him down.

These are the last two of 20+ laps where I was trying to catch him - and the only 1:34 I've been able to pull off there.
24Chromium posted a great video on Road America I’ve watched for reference MANY times. Looked like a great day. Super bummed, I was hoping to meet up with him. Sad news, RIP sir.
Even with a few rough spots my best lap from Barber today (June 4th) was a 1:35; the weather was warm, but clear. With cool weather, there should be a 1:34 in this car on street tires. 981 GT4, 200 cell cats and 91 octane tune, camber -2.9 and -2.4 on my last set of Bridgestone RE71-Rs (265/35/19 & 285/35/19).
