Cosmetically it was perfect, the battery is fine and I get around 24 - 28 miles off the charge. People were concerned about rusty rotors. No issues here. Honestly, considering the circumstances Porsche and my dealership did an outstanding job. I probably would have never known the difference if it came direct or was in waiting. I can tell you, that the wait was worth it as it is amazing technology. We would have done another Hybrid Cayenne, (knowing there would be another EPA hold) but we found a 2 year old GTS that we could not pass up. Hope this helps with the anxiety a bit. Good luck everyone..

Here are some of the Cayenne's at one of the lots at the Benicia, California port. They appear somewhat protected with wrap except for the windows.

Mine has been somewhere here since the end of April.

Those vehicles are actually Audi. I can see some Q7 and Q8.

Could very well be. Audi apparently have wheels similar to the 21"exclusive Cayenne ones.

Those are definitely all Audis. Anyone know where specifically in the San Diego port the Porsches are?

I posted this link earlier. It shows a Google earth photo of the Port in San Diego where all the VW of America brands vehicles arrive and wait. You can zoom in to see them more clearly or switch to map view to see where it is located.

Happened to be driving past the port with time to kill so I took a drive around. Couldn't find any Porsches but found an insane amount of Audi RS, S, E-tron and such scattered everywhere. I had this vision of seeing my car wrapped up waiting for me but damn is this a big port.

This is what PEC LA told me:
You are correct that we have received FED and CARB certification for the Cayenne E-Hybrid.
We are waiting for the software update and that is scheduled for 9/6 from 10/6.
Once that happens then they will be approved for release from the port.

So, do i interpret this "scheduled for 9/6 from 10/6" as that being brought forward - which means we might get them by mid September?

Sounds like mid-September to mid-October for delivery dates.

last line of report - "18.3miles " - for the electric range! Hardly worth the effort of plugging/unplugging...............

I guess it depends on how many around town errands one has to run.

Interesting. So it looks like it was conditionally approved last week, with 3 OBD failures that will generate a fine for each vehicle sold. Perhaps that's why the PEC LA mentioned those dates, to give Porsche time to write and install a patch that resolves the defects to avoid the fine?

That fits 90%+ of my wife's driving and she'll enjoy hypermiling it, some of the recent reviews show 27 miles doing that. Sounds good to me.
