Just adding some documentation to the thread. Got the BMS campaign applied to my 2019 Cayenne S after low battery warnings starting popping up after 3+ years of no problems. This was like three months ago. Warnings went away for a while, now the car is just disconnecting the battery, even though my battery tender says it's charged and good to go. I have to hook up my 75A external power to reset the battery (just hook it up, turn it on, hear the car click, immediately disconnect the cables, turn the power supply off, car starts and runs fine).

Car is going in next week, likely to get a new battery, under warranty. Dealer indicated that Porsche would not have covered the cost of the battery replacement under my CPO warrant (which kicks in soon). That would supremely suck.

I would love to know what the CPO warranty actually covers (or doesn't cover, in writing) but I have not been able to find any sort of documentation to that effect. Perhaps Porsche is keeping that intentionally vague.....

I have been asking on this site and searching the internet for a Porsche CPO warranty coverage document also. So far, nothing found.

This is the only document that I have seen around, for CPO warranty, but I would imagine everybody who buys a used Porsche will have a copy of the CPO warranty as part of the purchase documentation.

Strangely enough, it seems to cover defective/dead batteries.?

Sadly I didn't receive anything CPO documentation related from my selling dealership (other than the CPO "checklist"). I don't know if that is standard practice since the Porsche Bethesda buying experience was just awful (for many reasons). That document you attached is interesting but it is from 2005 so its possible Porsche was more transparent in those days with CPO coverage.

I have a copy of the Porsche Approved Limited Warranty Extension for my 2022 (Canada). It clearly states that batteries are not covered and are considered wear and tear, even though they are covered under the new car 4 year warranty. . I can't imagine the CPO warranty is any different. The eHybrid battery has its own warranty of course..

The current CPO program to my knowledge is unlimited mileage during the 2 year CPO period after original manufacturer's warranty. The document posted above indicated 50k miles limitation during the 2 year CPO period.

I plugged in the porsche branded trickle charger for MY24 turbo Gt and selected lithium ion. It started to work but when I came back in the next day it would work. Anyone have any ideas?

I assume you plugged it into the cigarette lighter on the console and locked the car. What did you see next day-blinking light on the charger? I had this problem on Macan few years ago, went to Porsche service and they had to do some programming on cigarette lighter to accept the charger. I suggest you go to Porsche service, take your charger with you and tell them what you've experienced. Having some experience from the past, I left the charger with Porsche service few days before delivery of my new car so they could check the charger functionality overnight. I have a Cayenne 2022 with LFP battery and Porsche charger works fine as intended without interruptions. However, the charger will stop working in case someone unplugs the charger from the wall by accident and plugs it back in, or anything that interrupts the charging process.

Small vote of confidence for the battery.

I left the parking lights on overnight in subfreezing weather, and the car started in the morning. Big relief.

At night I pressed the upper right button on the headlight switch panel to turn the headlamps off while I sat in the car for a while. Then I turned the engine off and exited the car for the night. Grateful the LiFePO4 battery didn’t fail in this situation.

My car is a MY20 9Y0.1 with no 48V systems (PDCC, etc). I do not use a battery maintainer.

36k miles on the car now.

Well, as expected, the battery is performing within spec, as far as testing with PIWIS is concerned. It properly holds a charge, doesn't have a parasitic draw, no errors logged, etc. At this point, the dealer is not going to do anything. I suppose I'm just going to have them bring a flat bed to the house the next time the battery has disconnected itself.

First time being in the forum. I have successfully fixed 16 Lithium-ion batteries on 9Y0 Cayenne and all the cars I have done are so far so good. I am working with my 17th job but failed so i am looking for some alternative solutions such as AGM conversion and found this forum really helpful! Thanks for all the input here guys!

9Y0-915-107 is the Lithium battery for 992 as one of my 911 friends with this battery is also looking for solutions to get rid of the low battery warning light. He is also trying to see if there is a negative cable can do the AGM conversion...

Are you a DIYer or a commercial enterprise offering services?

Can you share detailed photos and description of the “fix” you referred to?

Or can you explain commercial arrangements if that would be the case?

Anybody knows about this Chinese device that let a Cayenne use a regular AGM battery, instead of the Lithium battery, without any warning lights/errors?

I just requested more information on the original post.. but don't know how legit it is..

Makes sense, though, to build a device that provides dummy information through the data bus connector..
