I got the same letter for my 2016 CD. I'll bring the letter with me next time I go visit the dealer.

Drive safe,

Fortunately for me previous owner never registered. I’m getting just under $10,500 so I assume Bosch money is still there.

Do you know if the previous owners of your car registered and collected the first half of the settlement money? If so, they also got the Bosch money and you get none of that. And, of course, you'll only get the half remaining of the fix money.

I might just keep the thing unfixed and forgo the ~$5K....

Would have?

Have and will continue to do so every opportunity they think they can get away with something. Every single one of them. Or, as Rupert pointed out, anytime their actuaries tell them the risk of payout is significantly less than the money they'll make (or save by skimping).

If they never registered, I would say yes.

I guess I’m just curious how other people went about getting the reimbursement from Bosch. Did you have to go through a separate process or was it automatic with the VW settlement paperwork?

Any Idea what this covers? I'm wondering if my next oil change will be slightly cheaper if the checking and topping off adblue component is covered by the recall?

I got a text about the ad blue heater recall. Now to figure out what else needs to be addressed while it's in there for it.

Might be a dumb question but, what are you guys seeing for typical glow plug behavior? If the engine is not already fully warm I frequently get a 2-4 second pause from key turn to engine crank for the glow plugs even when it's reasonably warm out. Today it was 75+ degrees and I still had the usual couple of seconds of glow plug usage leaving work. It's nothing outside of what would be typical of older diesels I've owned. That said it was extremely rare to notice any delay at all on my BMW diesels (less than 10 times in 6 years of ownership and that was after being left outside in the winter) and I guess I was expecting all modern European diesels to have a similar glow plug setup.

I’ve owned my 2014 since new, and now have 85K miles on it. Emissions fix a little over a year ago.

when it was new I rarely had any glow plug delay. Lately in the colD I’ve been noticing a 2 second delay or so.

I'm wondering if the fix doesn't use the glow plugs more in an effort to help cut cold start emissions.

I too have owned my 2014 since new and I now have 130K on it. I have not done the emissions fix. The glow plug delay has definitely increased since it was new. Noticeable but really not a problem.

I didn't know what it was, but I have noticed glow plug delay now that you guys point it out. 67k miles on an unfixed 15

Glow plug delay could be your battery too. I just changed mine at 5.5 years and 72k miles and noticed that the starting delay decreased immediately.

Ours has the fix but I had it done about a year ago and didn't notice anything different until this winter. The cranking speed got slower too.

Been a while since I posted as I have decided to live with the lag/issues with this car since it is paid for in full, has more than 100k miles on it, and the trade-in would not cover much towards anything that would make me happy. Curious if you all have noticed a "rumbling" sound at around 56-63mph since the fix? I thought it was my wheels, except it does it on both my newish winters and brand new summers. The rumbling is noticeable and seems somewhat dependent upon throttle, so I think ruling out a wheel bearing issue is safe (no noise at any other speeds +/- from that range). Never noticed this pre-fix...

With that many miles on it, I'd go ahead and buy the Malone tune and the flash for the transmission. That'll give you more power and get rid of the lag.
