an exhaust leak can also cause excess air out of the closed system and make the O2 sensor readings off to the ecu. second thing is the cold weather tends to make rubber seals break its seal. personally new to the cayenne diesel world, but these general car problems still apply i'd think.

Since it is a 2.1, there were some hardware changes done. Who knows, maybe in the process of doing those changes, the technicians may have accidentally pinched or compromised another part, such as a vacuum hose?

...or your CD is more sensitive to the new software instructions

I think my car is a schizo...

This morning's rush hour drive... (Air Temp in the mid 30s)
~33 minutes / 6 miles it ran perfect,
Then over the last ~8 minutes / 1.5 miles, it began to stumble/hesitate again.

Appointment to bring the car in, tomorrow late-afternoon - (when the next loaner becomes available). Have to give credit to Prime Porsche, they're taking everything in stride here, and I feel that they've so far been very receptive to my feedback regarding the issues.

Dcaster, for what it's worth, I've contacted PCNA probably 15-20 times for recurring PCM electrical problems on my 2014 CD over the past 3 years. I've found them to be of little to no use. I had photos and videos of the problems but they would do nothing unless there was a "code" thrown. They could have different marching orders for the emission fix. I decided to call PCNA every time I had a problem to make sure there was a record with them about the problem in case something needed to be fixed after the warranty expired. Using the videos and photos as evidence the dealer finally made an attempt to fix without codes on their own dime which has helped. I recommend taking a few videos of your hesitation, etc., so the dealer can se exactly what you are experiencing.

Hi Mtea -- Thanks for the heads up! Last Wednesday morning, I already took the dealer-tech for a test drive, and it stumbled (lightly) with him in the car. So the dealer/team definitely is aware and has felt the problem. I also indicated to him, that the stumble is usually stronger than what he experienced, but nevertheless, the tech did acknowledge the problem. This was ~25 miles after the fix, and he asked I drive the car 200-300 miles for the ECU to "learn" - and to come back if it's still exhibiting the issue.

As mentioned, we're now at about ~400 miles... and it's still clatter/stumbling. I'm now scheduled to return the car tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed this doesn't turn into a wild goose chase. :\

I stopped by my dealer last Wednesday on my way home to grab myself a coffee (they have a Starbucks inside w/Barista... free coffee is priced right!), meander through the showroom, and check in w/the service team about the recall.

Service manager made sure to tell ME "make sure you bring it in empty! We'll give you a full tank!". He also mentioned pretty much everything that's been stated here: slightly louder at idle, especially when cold, holds gears longer (again, especially when cold). He mentioned it takes 400-500 miles of driving for the computers to re-learn, said to expect it to be kinda jerky and funny feeling until then. He also mentioned, as mine is a 2.1, to expect a "smell" for the first ~500 miles or so, as the fix includes a new catalyst and it will stink for a bit as it burns in.

We chatted for a bit (he's a cool guy) and it seems he's trying to tell most customers this feedback ahead of time when they drop it off. Seems to fend off comebacks from people who go around the block, then bring it back.

Maybe they're not like Omni's (or my) dealer because you scam them. There is no "complimentary service" due between settlement and approved fix. The settlement provides for an oil change and adblue refill "If an Emissions Compliant Repair is not timely available for any particular Sub-Generation of Generation Two Eligible Vehicles...." They announced the repair within limits and made it available within the court approved timeline. So basically you bamboozled them out of an oil change and adblue fill. On top of that, the settlement doesn't apply to your dealer, but to PCNA. Your dealer ate that service since PCNA wasn't reimbursing for it. On second thought, seems they may be more like Omni's dealer than you realize; you're just too unwilling to see that.

I have scheduled my appointment for 12/12/2017 at 7am. The SA said they would need the truck for a day-day and a half-no problem. I'll use up all the fuel in the tank in the meantime. The loaner is a given. I'm also going to have them check on the oil leak as I had it in not long ago and there was so much oil they had to clean it all off, then after testing, could not find any apparent leak so it must be a slow one. We shall see.

Default Process Complete

Just received the second half of payment on the 2013 CD today after repaired last week. So I am done with the process on two CD vehicles. $21,280.38 total received plus CPO on the CPO for the 2013 and CPO on the 2015

2013 CD $11,474.24 $8,474.24 from Porsche/$1,500 from Bosch 82,505 Miles/ CPO to 10/2020 and 125,000 miles transferable
2015 CD $12,808.14 $9,808.14 from Porsche/$1,500 from Bosch 25,021 Miles/ CPO to 10/2021 and 100,000 miles transferable

So for all this concern about the car, I find it drives as good or better than before the fix; I have additional dollars in my pocket; I have significant CPO warranties (transferable!!) on the vehicles to carry me through 2020; and my wife and I really enjoy the vehicles. So I am very pleased with the results. Thank you Porsche.

Get that checked Ben. It happened on my 2013 and we thought is was the RMS. Now there is a known oil leak problem involving the removal of the engine and a lot of other stuff. Took three weeks to fix.

I did have the dealer check it about a month ago and they did agree that there was a leak somewhere but could not find it. It is one of those slow seeps that takes time to show. I'm glad we now have a mega-long warranty. I'll have them check it on the twelfth of next month.

I thought Bosch check is $1,500 and not $3,000 per vehicle.

How did you get $3000 apiece from Bosch? They only owe each of us $1500/vehicle....
