Default iCarsoft does NOT support programming

There was some discussion earlier in the thread about whether the iCarsoft device could potentially do some of this coding/reprogramming.

I have the iCarsoft "Multi-system Car Diagnostic Tool POR V2.0" device (https://www.icarsoft.com/Product/s-3...ft_POR_V2.html) and just upgraded it to latest software last weekend (v19.07, see screenshot below).

I cannot find any ability to do any of this programming with the iCarsoft. Best that I can tell (from the device and their website) it's "write" capabilities are limited to maintenance resets and battery reregistration. It does a good job of the diagnostic functions, reading codes, as well as a few maintenance processes (detailed on their webpage).

Looks like the Launch devices are the primary ones for reprogramming/configuration changes capabilities.

There seem to be quite a few versions of the Launch devices. Other than form factor, do they all have the same capabilities? Is the key feature the "X431" designation?

I am looking to get one, so I did some searching. I found three websites associated with the X431. If you are looking for information about the X431 and other associated gadgets, these websites are it.

I think this is the Chinese website. http://www.x431.com/website/index.do
Here is the USA Launch Tech website. http://launchtechusa.com/
I selected the Products on the Chinese website, and this website popped up. http://eninfo.x431.com/

I vote to have this as a sticky.

I've been confused on the different x431 options as well
Launch x431 v+ that costs $1149 on amazon
https://www.amazon.com/LAUNCH-X431-D...%2C162&sr=8-53 https://www.amazon.com/LAUNCH-X431-D...%2C162&sr=8-53
or would the x431 icarscan for $235 work?
https://www.obd2tool.com/goods-5052-...r+Android.html

i'm hoping the x431 icarscan can do all of the coding. any clarification would really be appreciated.
thanks~

Do we know which tools from Launch have this capability yet? I see the X431 Pro Mini for $670 and it says it is bidirectional and coding capable. If that is running the same software and has these capabilities it would work fine for me.
My buddy ordered one of these last night, I’ll let you know what we find. I’m pretty sure the functionality is the same.

Based on previous responses I don't believe the icarscan will be able to code, just read codes and reset service indicators.

It seems the operative words we are looking for are "coding" and "bi-directional". The only other tool I've seen that makes claims similar is the Autel Maxisys line but, you are talking even more money and no guarantee it will code this specific vehicle.

After more than an hour of poring over those websites and the product descriptions on Amazon, I just ordered the X431 Pro S Mini.

Looks like disabling DME > activating_of_start_stop_function will disable it for only one drive cycle. I drove to work this morning and start/stop was disabled automatically, button did not light up when clicked:

I iust got back in the car again and it’s re-enabled though. There must be another mapping for it deeper in the dme that flips it back on whenever the car is restarted.

I’ll keep digging.

Was able to code functions with PoCOM. Successfully enabled the boost pressure in the cluster, mirror fold on door lock (in Instrument Cluster), and open & close sunroof/windows via key fob. I was not able to access the PCM fully, but a quick e-mail to PoCOM should get their enginerds to look into the issue and fix it.

Still experimenting but at 50% less than the X431, I'm sold. Granted things are labeled a little differently than what the X431 lists them as, and there's no search function yet available, but PoCOM is constantly updating their software. Since I've purchased it there have been 5 updates in the past two months.

What about turning the side markers into blinkers on a CTT?

Boy, there's hours of fun stuff to do with the x431.

Do you all see the icons that you can have appear in the vehicle menu title line? I also see where the nominal pressures can be changed for various tire settings, which might work to allow a lower setting for off-roading without the warnings going off. I'll have to fiddle and see if it works.

It's interesting how the numerous hidden coding functions on a 958 are not accessible with a PIWIS2 or PIWIS3, but are with this x431.

Hmm. My '14 CTTS remembers the auto start stop setting. Also remembers suspension setting and ride height, but not sport mode, seat heat/fan, etc.

Mine doesn't remember sport mode either and I'm about a week away from ordering a t-design9.com memory module.

I just purchased the icarscan X431 from obd2tool.com that you linked above (photo below so people don't have to click links). It does NOT have the coding functions mentioned in this thread, or atleast I can't find them. My tool pulls codes and resets maintenance intervals/battry replacement.
