Cayenne Coding - The Ultimate Guide & Discussion

Pulled the trigger on a Launch Diagun V. Looks like each week on Amazon there's a deal for 15% off these scanners. Each day it changes which version has the 15% off. So, today it's the x431 V, another day is the Pro Mini, then Diagun, then another model and keeps rotating.
By the way, they add some items free to the package, but they are sneaky and instead of automatically adding the items free, there's a link you need to click that adds the products to your Amazon cart. Then, at checkout the price is reduced.
I'll test it out and see if it cam program everything like the 431 V+ did when I borrowed it.

You'd have to scroll back or just search Launchtech USA on this and other PIWIS and ObdII threads-
The Launch X431 Torque is what the Ferrari owners use, and the new version just came out recently.
There are some vendors online, not Amzon, that's for sure-
I gave up the X431 and got a Piwis instead, but it is a nice choice-

I asked them just to confirm what I received as an answer from Launch China: at present there's no support for 992s.
Did you get the PIWIS 3? I assume it covers 992s? Where'd you find yours and model? TIA

The problem is people are so conditioned to click and buy on Amazon they didn't realize the US version has a different marketing avenue, and with few authorized dealers. It's sort of a mess, but the link I posted is a good one.
It could be that the new version of Torque has the 992 functionality.
I got the PiwisIII, and these days the vendor most people are getting it from is Belauto-search on garageforum.org and he has different software versions and options-
Best,
JB

Reporting back....
Got the tool, literally the thing is the same as the bigger x431 V Pro unit that I used in the past.
One main issue I have is that the coding menu is in German, which isn't ideal in my case because I have zero knowledge of German. Sent a message to Launch, well see if they can help fix it. I've gone through all the steps recommended and still no success. I know for sure that the V Pro definitely was all in English, so if they can't fix it. I'll return and buy the bigger unit. Still have about 30 days to return, so, we'll see what's up and I'll report back with progress.

Just downloaded the latest Porsche software update for the Launch and it doesn't support 992s. No reply to my query above on the aeswave website. FWIW good coverage of the 2020 Macan though

When you search for Launch, you're bombarded by Amazon and other vendors' ads and can't find the US site. The site is:
https://www.launchtechusa.com/produc...x431-torqueiii
The site is also sort of a mess, but try downloading their catalog. The Torque III came out recently, and covid has been a real mess for them and many other companies. I would call the US number and speak to someone for vehicle coverage questions.
When I was about to get the Torque, I also looked into the less expensive smaller tablet, the Turbo. It was supposedly the same software, but 8" tablet. The Turbo III has not yet come out btw-
So after much research, about 6 months ago, I discovered that all Ferrari owners that wasted their money with rest of the world Amazon listed X431 models, bought the Torque. It was the only one that worked on 360s, 430s, 458s and others, especially for the clutch functions, programing a new clutch, bleeding etc.
There was a procession of forum members returning their Vs, Diaguns, Minis etc bought on Amazon one click bait sites.
And the German language on X431, not sure. But with PIWIS, when you switch to development mode(E) it is indeed in German, but for most scans and repairs you don't need to be in development mode.
The new US version Torque III may still not cover the 992,
Get a Piwis then, it's become quite affordable on garageforum.org.
Best,
JB

I'm going to give it to end of year if no joy I"ll sell the x431 and go over to PIWIS unless one of the models covers 992s. I have my VAG-COM for my Touareg and my friend's Q7
