BTW just checked the site you kindly forwarded and while waiting for a Registration Code I browsed some of the ads. I came across this one but it also doesn't cover 992s

OK so it says buy the one with two versions, but the latest version, according to the link I mentioned above, still doesn't support 992s unless I'm missing something. Thanx for you guidance

If you go one gargeforum.org instead of mmhauto, contact Belauto with 992 questions. And garageforum does not require a paid membership-
You can also post your questions on the "received my Piwis thread, where many 992 owners post questions and answers-

Best,
JB

Siberian - sorry to jump in mid-thread (and ignorant), but what 2021 are you trying to deal with and what are you trying to do? If you're aware of the "hidden features" thread over on MF, practically everything I've posted has been about what I've done with 23.82 and my 2021 Macan GTS (mainly coding work). Personally, in the coding area, so much of what was English (in the English software version) in 23.82, is now German in 23.85, I can't recommend it for coding unless you already know how to use a Launch x431 on a Porsche for coding.

I'm trying to use my x431 v 23.85 on my 2021 992C4S. It won't allow you to write anything to it. It recognizes the car (I've tried to "fool" it by saying it's a 991 in manual config) but no luck. Everything works great on the Macan and Launch has not given any idea as to when it will support 992s. You have a pointer to the thread on MF? Has anyone who posted actually used x431 on a 992? TIA

I am sorry to hear of your woes on the 992. Your best bet is probably a PIWIS 39.7/39.8 if you want to try some coding.

I am not aware of anyone on MF posting about coding (any kind of coding) on a 992, but here's the link to the Macan coding. The link will take you straight to the documentation that I made using 23.82, which 23.85 has made more complicated due to the language changes. Sigh.

Actually version 40.450.020 on the PIWIS 3 tester is what I need. Thanks again!

Can you actually code with that? I can't code diddly squat on my Macan with 40.0 (I have to back off to 39.7, or use my Launch). So maybe coding is not what you're worried about, or maybe they re-allowed coding with the higher revs of 40?

I contacted the person JB911 suggested and given my requirements (i.e. 2021 992), he stated I need 40.450.020 developer mode. Issue is I don't use PCs much I'm more a MAC person but I do have an old PC running XP SP2 that I suee for my VAG-COM and some other non-Mac software. So I'm looking for a turn-key solution meaning PC, dongle and SW as a single purchase. I contacted VXDAS as they have such a unit for sale on a Lenovo but they're closed for a week for Chinese national holiday. Their offering is with v 40.400.00 so I asked if they could upgrade to 40.450.020 and developer mode.

What exactly are you trying to do on the Macan that you can't with the x431?

Sorry for the delay, we're having over a foot of wet snow fallen, the wet and sticky kind that clogs up my blower, then trying to help a neighbor clear her driveway she didn't mark it and I slid sideways into her ditch...

Anyway, thanx (again!) for the pointer. Will PIWIS run on Parallel as well or just VM Fusion? Then I would just need to download the software and buy the dongle. I notice on other offerings you have to mail them the SSD or HD for updates. Does Belauto sell directly or through a website?

Thank you again!

Others would know more about Parallels, and things also depend on which version of OSX you have. There are those who say it's better to run Piwis on a windows machine, but enough people on the "Received my Piwis" thread have used their Macs with Fusion with no issues. It's cheaper since there's no need to get a laptop-
Belauto does offer a VMware version as far as I know.
That thread has links to getting the VCI from eBay or aliexpress, or Belauto also sells a VCI as well
The only VCI's that work have firmware 1.6.6 or below-
