Be warned: version 5 will automatically/secretly download every single diagnostic program without asking and completely fill up the tablet's memory! And you have to delete each one independently. Geez... I am not a fan of updates, especially automatic ones!

 

Anyway to revert back to the old version??? Just tried to run it for a friend's Q7... went back to VAG-COM. What a frickin mess Launch has become.

Did you guys update the firmware of the dongle as well? I've updated mine and haven't run into any issues.

 

The issue is one of presentation, it's totally changed and whilst before it wasn't especially intuitive, it's now anyone's guess as to where to start or find things. I'm hoping there's a way to revert back, meaning a factory reset to the original software and then just refuse the upgrades unless they deal specifically with modules that are vehicle of interest and certainly not the APK itself.

I am not sure we all have the same variant of the Launch x431. There are different ones having the same exact features.

-When I start the app the screen is black and indicates in red X-diag Pro3 with a red car logo below
-The android app version is V3.12.038
-The Diag Base Service app version is V1.00.007
-The Firmware version is V11.80 (recently updated from V11.70)
-The Porsche diagnostic version is V23.70

What are your versions?

Definitely not the same software. The user interface is different but the core seems common as the diagnostic package are compatible till now (I am however stuck to the porsche V23.70 but you got the V23.75).

Can you post a screenshot of the Software Upgrade screen assuming it is not automatically download the last versions and put the mess on your unit?

I was able to spend a little time with the new update yesterday. Once you get past the homepage nothing has changed. At least on the x431 v.

 

It did on mine. I was disabling the *** on a 2018 Q7 as well as checking some DTC's and I got totally lost as to what it was showing and certainly not what I remember from when the wife's 2020 Macan had a meltdown earlier this year. I gave up and reverted back to the VAG-COM and solved all issues.

Yes, I've been working on the VAG-COM for years so I'm very familiar with it and that is certainly true vs the x431 which is new to me. But I hope this is not a precursor of every iteration will signal a new "facelift" and having to relearn where things are. I don't have any issues to address on any vehicle at the moment and summer is busy here so I don't believe I'll be experimenting on this soon (of course unless something again crops up). But Olga, my skid steer, is back from the ICU and projects are mounting up. Still will be following this closely and contribute where I can and will post if I ever hear back from Launch following my email on the new version.

Do you have an email for the Launch Support to provide feedback to fix things? I sent an email to support@launchtechusa.com but they responded telling me that the Launch x431 V+ isn't made for North America and they don't support it.
