The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

Not sure why some non-RS GT3's have such prominent rear parcel shelf cutouts (assumingly for a cage),... picture # 19.
.....If Porsche put them in my .2, they are almost indiscernible.
The car did 21k miles in its first 3 years without any carfax logging, so assuming oil changes etc were done at a Indy. .... wow, then it did only a little over 1k miles since 2014. That's a lot of years sitting with one owner over 8 yrs.
I agree,... kinda strange that there is some yellow stitching is random places. The door cards look odd with some regular stitching & a bit of yellow thrown on (& no yellow stitch on the seats, which was an easy box to tick).

that is indeed some very random deviated stitching. Hard to imagine it left the factory like that, especially given that none of it is listed on the build sheet.

Looks amazing tho. Are there any other .2 currently even on the market? If someone really want a .2 right now....
No argument there. One of the best specced .2s we've seen, in spite of the bizarre stitching which, if i had to guess, was pieced together after the car left the factory.

The 18 yr old me would have just taken a yellow highlighter to all the white stitching (... that would have been in the 70's btw)

The cutouts are originally for a child seat restraint on 4 seat cars If they've been used, then the carpet never goes back to being invisible. I don't how one would ever use them in a 2 seater car though. Someone curious and lifted them up one time can cause this because I don't think he car would have buckets and use a harness with this tether point.

Weird. I'd like to take a run at this car and have made an offer, but the interior is throwing me off. I've asked him why some of it are yellow stitched and some white...Agree the yellow deviated stitching is not on the build sheet. He says he's been the owner since the original dealer owned it at 400 miles. He had it on a lease and bought out the lease. he's the second and third owner on the carfax.

Thx. I'd like the car. Just want to know the story of the two different color interior stitches...It looks weird. But as bweSteve said, I can always get a highlighter!

Whatever, the reason, it's irrelevant now. I'm sure any issues would have turned up in the last 11 years and 20k miles. I would not hesitate to buy this car if I was in the market. Basalt black is a fantastic color.

I agree with you 100% that there was a high turnover initially and as a matter of fact, my car was initially purchased by a doctor who turned it in within 1000 miles for the exact reason you stated. However, I don't recall ever seeing them sitting for long on dealer lots. Seems that at least in my area, they would get snagged up quickly.
