Well other than the benefit of time, when you trade in you can offset the tax on the new car right? At least here in California that makes a big deal because used car purchases require a 10% tax upon registration.

In Ohio it is only on new car purchases, not used car purchases. I think it's a ridiculous rule, should be on any car like it is in most states. I also think some states have no sales tax on private party sales.

This .2 GT3 sold almost a year ago. But does anyone know why it sold for such a low price?

Bit of a mess of an auction. Bad representation, lack of DME report, no paint meter, terrible shifting on video, decals left on for sale. Bottom line, consensus on here was buyer got a great deal even with some possible issues with the car.

Post 2846 here. Main issue was that he didn't provide a DME report and he decided to make a driving video, which he has since removed, of him revving on each up shift to rev match and I think he was also taking it near redline on cold oil, but I can't remember 100% if he did the latter. Either way, it was enough to make a lot of people think twice about that car. A Rennlist member ended up buying the car and said the car had a clean DME and no issues.

Thank you. I’ve been wondering the story behind that car and sale for several months since I missed the sale. The buyer must have been through the roof. I used to see this car driving around where I live for years.

1 of 4 cream white .2 GT3’s in NA:

Looks like it has been tracked through. Doesn’t have original PCCB rotors and has a cage+harnesses.

Agreed. Color looks like it belongs on a 1980s Crown Victoria station wagon IMO.

Unfortunately, you cannot do this in CA anymore. You will be taxed on the full vehicle price...No offset.

Well looks like someone must have loved that color because I can’t find the listing anymore. Probably wanted it to match their Oldsmobile station wagon with wood paneling.

Hahahaha thanks for the laugh. That was great and spot on. My parents had one of those and it was the first car I ever rode in as a kid. We gave it the moniker “the war wagon” as it was so darn ugly. Anyway, that just made my night. Lol Thanks!
