Only 13 left, one was exported. I've identified a couple of them, just a matter of whether or not the owner can be convinced to sell.

Dont even think of selling your 997 for a 991.1. If you're looking at a .2 then possibly but not a 991.1., unless it's an RS. Those 991 prices fell like rocks and will continue to fall. I'm in for selling my 997.1 but only to get into a 997.1 or .2 RS.

Seems like you have a great car in your hands.

PORS9 shows 11 in 2010, and 4 in 2011 for a total of 15 in North America. I did not know there was only 1 shipped to Canada. Wow.

I aspire to be more like Saru & continuing to put tons of miles on mine too. The goal is to make it less desirable & less valuable with mileage (w/ inversely proportionate # of smiles)

The love affair continues....

YES!!!

though to be fair, mine had ~24k miles on it when i bought it, so i've only managed to put on 30k miles since i got it ~4.5yrs ago.
need to decide what to get it for it's 10yr birthday next year.

would love to add a 997.2 RS at some point, but not in the cards for now.

Seems like the 991.1 RS's are coming down with some in the 150's down from 220+ not too long ago, still more than I want to spend now. The 991.1 regular GT3 is probably attainable for my budget but I do enjoy my 997 and the 6MT but a little itchy for a newer/faster car.

I know the itch to try something different is strong at times, and the 991.x GT cars are super capable and fast, I have had them all, but if you are into the visceral driving experience and being totally involved it, you may tire of the 991 GT cars quickly as they do so much for the driver and cover up many mistakes that one makes, I feel it robs you of the reward that a properly driven 997 can give you. Cars have gotten so incredibly stupid fast that has forced manufacturers to add so money bloody nannies that we have become to far removed from the thrill that driving well can afford. I am by no means a track superstar nor a drift king, but I sure as hell feel more alive behind the wheel of any 997 vs 991 GT car, AT ANY SPEED. I am not trying to sway anyone’s choice/decision, just offering my personal experience. I hate to say it, but moving forward for me I am not the least bit interested in any new Porsche products as they are to watered down for my taste. YMMV

As I continue to get older and mature in the car driving and collecting world I’m really adopting this philosophy, right now what I do is I buy something that I like, drive it if I really like it I drive it some more and eventually will get rid of it. There’s a few cars In my garage that are that are dead man cars, either because I love them or I can’t replace them, but many cars I enjoy just driving for a while and checking it off the list and moving on, for example one of these was the first generation NSX and 997 gt2. A wise friend of mine did tell me that the best cars ever built have probably already been built, are we ever going to see the likes of a Carrera GT, 997 GT cars, 2005/2006 Ford GT Just to name a few

If you must have a 991 please skip the .1 GT3 and .1 RS's. The new 4.0 motors in the 991.2's are monsters and much better designs and better cars. I sometimes fall into thinking the same way as you and want something newer, softer but still blistering faster (New AM Vantage AMR manual, AMG GTR Pro etc.) than a 997 GT car. Then I get in the RS and it's alive, raw and once all fluids are up to temp it's time rip and then even a 5 mile round trip is an experience. Good luck...
