Default Bumping WTB 997 GT3

Bumping this back up per another member’s recommendation. - I am still looking to buy a 997.1 or perhaps a .2 if the price ends up still in my budget.

My budget is 110k - 155k.

Ideally looking for GT Silver, Meteor Grey, Midnight Blue Metallic, Slate Grey, Atlas Grey, Cobalt Blue Metallic, Lapis Blue Mettalic. Looking for a driver approx in the 25k - 70k miles range. Clean carfax, Ok with some mods - ie Sharkwerks or similar (pinned or not pinned is fine)

I live in SoCal so if you are local I can quickly get to where you are.

Good intel in here, think I'm going to sell my 992 GT3T at a loss and just hold some cash until a 997 gt3 catches my eye. Pray for me folks.

I said car market not 997 gt3. I think it’s common sense to think 997 GT market will be much less affected than most.

if you have the means buy the car, if you need to save more wait, timing market is a waste unless maybe taking new cars where hype is crazy for first 6-12 months on a release

I get ya, misunderstood. Funny thing about these older GT cars that it takes a bit of a special breed to buy one, its not really a car... its a hobby. The wife knows all to well its a 15 year old car worth "some dumb amount" that I spent more than enough time convincing myself I was ready to buy. So while I cant speak for the others if push came to shove after years of tinkering and driving my wife would sell all the other cars and drive a beater before she asked me to sell this one.

No need to take a loss! The GT3T seems so refined and spectacular. The 997 market is unpredictable and you might find the car you like next week or in a few years.

honestly I think that’s a good idea, as the 992 gt3’s are going to slide and slide imo and that’s coming from someone with a 992 3rs on order.

If you want to save some cash throw it in ticker BIL. It yields about 5.5% annually and is just the 1-3 month t bill rate via a low cost etf. So unless the govt defaults your good, and if that happens we got other issues lol. It’s basically the non scrubbed high yield savings account rate before the bank takes their little cut

took me 2-3 years to find the right SELLER for my .2RS
the car will reflect the character of the SELLER in my experience
don't FOMO

I meant that I bought the car at the peak over sticker CPO price and even if i sell it for what I bought it for I'd be taking a 15k hit on taxes. I figure I'd be better off investing the money until the right 997 comes along.

I just saw this one listed. If it is indeed a no issues (clean Carfax), then this is a bargain!
I tried to do a Google search of the VIN and nothing showed up. I didn't run a Carfax as I'm not buying. I tried Vinanalytics to get options and it was just the generic output, no details.
2008 white with black interior. 27K miles for $122,700.
Hope a member gets it before it's too late.

you’ll make some of that back in 6 month CDs easily and if you find the perfect one just pay the interest penalties… how long you been looking?

or may get lucky and find a trade in

Records I found indicated a salvage title. Accident from 2012.

Not long too be honest, test drove one a couple weeks ago and decided that's the one to have. There is a 997.2 at the dealership here but they're not being reasonable with trade in value and don't seem interested negotiating. I will play the long game.

Would be helpful if you shared proof of this. The Carfax is clean with no accidents.
