I’ve been surprised by the number of dealers that don’t vet their cars properly. Some don’t do much digging into the car and just buy it as it’s priced below what they feel the market is. Not even doing the basics such as Googling the VIN. They find out the story later on and end up wholesaling or continue to offer the car to clients. Good ones may try to rectify any fixable issues and disclose them to buyers. Others sometimes try to hide them. Heard some say that they don’t have the time to vet cars thoroughly as they simply buy and sell too many cars. That excuse doesn’t make buyers at least like me feel any better about doing future business with them. Maybe they should buy and sell less cars so they can vet each of them properly. Quality over quantity. I’m not calling out RFM or any dealers in particular.

My guess is either it already sold (surprising) or they found out the history and took it down quickly and will auction it off/wholesale it.

Glad people are on top of cars like this here to save someone from losing $150k on a misrepresented example (showing no accident on carfax, but actually having one). If a car has a story but is at least properly represented, I think there's less of an issue there.
My educated guess is they wholesaled it. They usually jump at the opportunity to post a car as sold as it almost adds to their CV. Even cars who I believe they played a small part in selling such as a PTS Cobalt Blue 997.2 GT3 are listed as sold. So the fact the listing for this 997.1 GT3 is flat out just gone makes me think they wanted to separate themselves from this car as far as they could get.

That's just pure greed and trying to corner the market.

Just browsing Rennlist this morning and came across this post. I bought (and own this car) from the guy who purchased it on PCar -- he had to sell it 8 months after he bought it. I can say it's the best car I've ever had. Took it for a standard major service at Repasi and James told me it's one of the nicest examples he's ever seen. Plan to keep this thing forever.
