I left a comment that he really needs to take new pictures of the interior. The white bits look so flat it looks like primer, not paint. Bad light reflection.

wow. $162k for a 91k mile, well specced example. Once again that gives more credence to my notion that these cars will not suffer any value downside from driving them over the next decade +. I agree with Moacur, who makes a very good point that once a few more years go by, and newer {high production count} GT3's continue to rise, and many of these {low production #} 997 GT3's sell at such high prices,... none of those buyers will ever want to sell in the future at a big loss. These cars will follow the same historical path that my 964 Turbo did (now with 80k miles).
Moacur, I BET your friend REALLY wishes you had let him buy it at $640!!!

I know it's all cosmetic and relatively easily put back to OE spec, but I have a hunch all that self-painted trim is going to hurt his result. I also don't think original interior color options would cover that much of the trim. Mine has Basalt accents to match exterior, but it's only on door pulls, vents, etc.

I don't know, that seems off. There are a few 997.2 with 60k less miles with about the same ask and there's even one with a 3rd less miles for 167k with pccb. What type of spec was it? Even if it had all the goodies that seems someone paid more than they should given options that are out there.

I guess all that matters is that the buyer is happy with his purchase but I'll have the unpopular opinion that he overpaid.

Overpaying for a GT3 is pure FOMO. Once buyers realize that every other week there is another 997 GT3 of whatever variant on the auction block the FOMO will dissipate and maybe prices will level out. I don't think they will ever go down because nobody would ever sell one of these for anything less than they paid for it.

Honestly unlikely. People will panik when things go sideways. Look at these two, the same owner sold at the worst time ever during the Covid trough.

Both cars selling from Canada, and that makes for a discount. I would have never put an RS 4.0 on Pcarmarket back then...bound to take a hit. The CGT also Canada, and though he at least put it on BAT it was a 36k mile car. Nice to be able to daily drive it though!

Kevin, your gray car should be worth a little fortune. If that black one is sells for $230k you're underpriced. Something about as close to a brand new car as one can get, which yours appears to be, should bring some good coin. Wish I would have picked it up back then, however, I wouldn't have been a good candidate for that car because I like to drive them and I would hate to click it over to a 5 digit odometer reading.
