The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

Have to disagree, but to each there own. I have had several base interior GT3/RS and leather elevates both quality and interior feel for me anyway, nothing like the smell of quality Porsche leather. At one point I owned three RS's at the same time two leather and one non-leather, which was the first to go? Will not own another non-leather GT car or any Pcar.

The Canadian ROW (Japan) Pumpkin is back on BAT - this time with no reserve. Hell yeah, good for the seller coming back with a no reserve listing. Was bid to $187.5k USD a month ago. I have one of these (a German delivered example), great values for Canadians as they are priced nowhere near north american versions that US buyers can acquire. ROW Clubsport package has the fixed carbon CGT seats, plexi rear window, less sound deadening, and cage (with optional factory front section). Love mine!

IMO the car should have sold at $187.5k USD. Great money for the Canadian seller that would never be achieved listing on local Canadian sites.
There was a lot of confusion and arguing in the comments of the last listing about whether it could be legally imported to USA. The answer is no but the seller was leading people on that it could be.

Big fan of the fancy interior on my RS. My .2 also had a nicely spec’d extended leather / alcantara interior, but nothing deviated. I love details, and the full spec interior with deviated and body color accents is a lot of detail to love. If I was angling for a track weapon, I’d want bare bones and Nomex buckets.
But end of day, really don’t care either way. It’s the least exciting thing about the car.

Call me picky and fancy but in my opinion the cleanest spec car / interior setup is:
Carrara White
PCCB
Full Leather Dash / Upper Doors (but black stitch)
Alcantara Steering Wheel w/ Yellow Center Line
Alcantara Door Cards
Alcantara Center Console Lid
Painted Carrara White Center Console
Premium Stereo but with no-screen head unit
No Sport Chrono (good luck finding that)
Folding Buckets (obviously after factory)
Black or Yellow Belts
Yellow RS Style Door Pulls
White Gauge Faces, White Sport Chrono Face if has it
MAYBE a white cage. But probably no cage.
Carbon door sills take or leave (would match buckets but nothing else)
So then the yellow center line on steering wheel, yellow belts, door pulls and PCCB tie in together. Deviated yellow stitching IMO is too much going on. Keep the stitch Alcantara color or leather color. Center console adds a bit of brightness to the interior but not overdone (front center console ahead of gear selector not painted).
Other colors with similar matching characteristics are also awesome (saw black/red done well once before and typically not a black car fan). The Orange 997.1 RS with perlon CGT seats has almost the exact spec as above but orange car instead of white, which is pretty cool.

Same, i think rubber dash would be a deal breaker unless the deal was too sweat. I was so bummed at how economy my .1 interior felt. The full leather/alcantara and dev stitching in my .2 makes it feel like a much more premium car.

I agree, full leather for me too!
As somebody looking to finally purchase my dream car (997 GT3) in the near future, it’s encouraging to hear people are willing to sell to a private party rather than these flippers.
I hope I’m lucky enough to end up with one of the enthusiast owned cars from a member of this forum. I’ve stalked this thread for longer than I care to admit, and I’ll say 997 GT3 owners are a great group of enthusiasts who are passionate about their cars and one of the closer knit communities still around.

I've been kicking the idea around of selling mine, have some business opportunities coming along and could use the funds to simplify those plans.
