found this while browsing the PCA classifieds....

https://www.pca.org/classified-ad/329382

I a brief email conversation with the owner already....its a solid RS from the sounds of it but, it has a replacement engine. The nice thing is the owner is very honest with the info and not trying to hide anything.

I tried hard to see this car over the summer since my summer home is about an hour away from the seller. He is a fire fighting pilot, so really busy and hard to get a hold of. He is definitely up front and I think if this car is bought for a fair price, it could be a very nice driver for someone. Definitely not a collector with the replacement engine (was replaced under warranty before this guy owned the car). I love the blue. Happy with the one I ended up with, but at the right price, I would have bought it.

Interestingly enough, we bought that car way back when and supervised the engine replacement. The buyer claimed he was going to export it but I guess never did!

By chance, who did the work? As for price, you could look into something far more authentic as well as mileage via “BlackLabels” RS and a few others. The premium being ask for on this is in my opinion high by $9-11k.

They’re arrogant to boot. I spoke concerning an 993 RSR they had a few years back and the responses were **** poor. So far as much as an insult to inquire and ask for the detailed profile on its usage. Suffice to say, I wasn’t interested anymore.

Thank you.

You’re on-spot as usual and thanks for the authenticity you show here in the forum. I spoke with you once regarding a 964RS owned by one of the prominent Porsche Family members.

i think a fair price for that car is $150k. I was going to offer him $145 and not pay more than $150 when I looked at it. Ended up finding another one I liked that Doug at Switchcars had listed. Easy painless transaction.

Safe to say with that car in my garage, I'd never need another Porsche for the rest of my life.
