the adm and bat fenzy is pretty much crypto and nfts at this point and it’s nov 2021 all over again.

Porsche has pumped out so many GT cars at this point they’re the only ones that will end with all the money in the bank and a lot of suckers out there that thought they could “own cars for free”

cars are not investments. Repeat that to yourself, they don’t make money and your only hoping someone is even more excited about the car down the road than you are, which is a very tall order given current frenzy environment.,.and ask yourself if you would want your car in 24 months if it was half….of the answer is no…don’t buy it or sell it now

but to say “values are going to the stratosphere” is highly irresponsible and delusional tbh
“Ask yourself if you would want your car in 24 months if it was half”

Come on, man. If the market softens even 20% there are so many guys on the sidelines flush with cash waiting for any kind of deal.

You’re the delusional one if you think 997 GT3s will EVER be $75k cars again. That ship has sailed.

This .2 GT2RS I thought would be cool to send to a Porsche Classic restoration sure didn’t slip by anyone, already at $257

Calls for market crashes or market booms are rarely ever right

7.2 3RS has been one of my dream cars (the other being CGT) since it was released. Will not selling if market drops...but, as others mentioned, I don't think it will. The new GT cars will probably experience a decline as they continue to pump them out, but they're never making 997s again - Mezger (finished), manual RS (finished - unless you call the ST an RS), hydraulic power steering (finished)...there will never another RS with all of the aforementioned features, which are exactly why the car is so special to drive.

People comparing the 997 GTs with 9x1 and 9x2 GTs don't truly understand the cars IMO.

I have no inside knowledge so this is all speculation but I would be surprised if High Marques was not able to retail that car, and quickly, for close to ask. It's an extremely desirable spec with very low mileage. $200k is not exactly a new high watermark that they would want to set and assuming Friedman is asking more than $200 (he listed the last one with worse spec for $220), having a public record of the car recently selling for $200 would be actually hurting him. Who knows. I guess we will see how long it sits in his inventory now.

He's not sitting on them. He's been unloading them for the last year. The black Turbo is on BaT right now. Interestingly, none of the cars he has purchased appear to have ever been titled/registered by him. The Carfaxes on the relisted cars show no record of being registered since the time he's bought them.

Honestly, the million dollar question is: Who TF is Snaveed. Buyer with deep pockets? Buyer with ill gotten pandemic cash? Whoever can answer that should get a Lifetime Member Rennlist account.

8Lug, you think maybe these dealers don't actually sell these cars and just move them around. Friedman says, "Hey park you car on our lot and maybe we can help you get the car sold faster. They take a small percentage of the sales price if successful. I know that dealers move cars around. My Audi RS4 was sitting at Pacific Audi, in Torrance, forever, then was moved up to Rusnak to see if they could do better. I picked it up from Rusnak for 8k off sticker. High gas prices and the 2008 market crash made for a nice buy.

So he has titles that haven't been re-issued lol, so unless he has a dealers license tax man is coming for him?

I called for neither.

i just don’t think 997 GT cars will go to the “stratosphere”, that’s crazy given their popularity already. For the price to move even higher they would have to become more liked than they already are, they are amazing cars for the record, I love them and I’ll never forget driving my dads 997 gt3 around and kn track when it was brand new and most really didn’t know or care what a gt3 was, crazy how things have changed!….but there’s so many great cars out there and a glut of 991/992 (which exists) is not going to help

i think they’re pretty much at peak popularity and they’ll just probably neither crash or boom. Probably be pretty much the same price in 10 years which I don’t think is unreasonable. Pretty much what 60’s muscle cars have done for the last 15 years. My generation (millennials) don’t seem to care about collecting cars unfortunately.

You want a car that’s going to go up in value, than buy it when it’s very unpopular and “bottom cool” as Matt Farah says haha i
