The GT market is funny business. It’s fun watching everything play out, whether it’s up, down, plateau. Im a happy GT3 owner so doesn’t bother me much haha
The two .1 GT3's with Sharkwerks 3.9's didn't show much of an increase.

Here's the 4.1 you were mentioning:

Even an expensive "modification" like a 3.9 or 4.1 build from the best builders should be done because someone wants that motor.

It’s been a while since a Sharkwerks 3.9 has come up for sale and I don’t think we’ve seen one since they switched to exclusively doing 4.1 builds. They’d probably bring more of a premium in modern times but who knows.

4.1 is a pretty heavy lift, but it’s about 20k off if you already did the 4.0 flywheel/LSD/headers etc…

I have 92 range 4s from about 20k miles ago, so no matter how many scopes or leak downs someone will judge that negatively. I figure new Nikasil sleeves and essentially the 4.1 rebuild should give peace of mind if it was ever sold. So because I’m well over the collector miles at 35k and I’ve refreshed every wear part in the last 5k miles I’m hoping it will get judged from the 4.1 rebuild on.

but really those are all just things to help me justify it

that was my 3.9 from Aug 2020. Was the 1st 3.9 sold on BaT. It was definitely much lower than expected...really not much of a difference in $ between a stock 3.6

First link to the 3.9 was mine. Was expecting about 10k higher than where it ended

Pls correct me if I am wrong (& point to the source please) ...

Qty 11 in 2010, and another 4 in 2011 = 15 ... and that Qty 15 was for all of North America. US got 14 of them.

Of the North America Qty 15, 5 of them were ordered with PCCB's,.. so 10 came with Iron Brakes.

I don't know the breakout of how many US verses Canada got the PCCB's, verses Iron.

boy, that price looks so cheap now. if i could go back, i'd certainly outbid the winner on that auction. i bet he's been rather pleased with that purchase.

Guards red 7.2 with 27k miles. Asking $199k.

https://mart.pca.org/ads/67036

WP0AC2A98AS783370

details from ad below:

2010 GT3, options 140 - dynamic engine mounts, 28 - black leather seats, 450 - ceramic composite brakes - PCCB, 474 - front axle lift, 490 - sound package plus, 639 - sport chrono package w/out PCM, 810 - floor mats in interior color, 870 - universal audio interface, G1 - guards red, P01 - adaptive sports seats.

Car has Ohlins DFV Suspension kit (original with front end life included), StopTech hats and floating rotors: new rotors 2019 (comes with car but not installed), Side muffler bypass pipes (stock side mufflers included), M&M sport center exhaust (stock center exhaust included), GMG suspension RSS kit, new GMG lower control arms this year; bump steer set-up, GMG front/rear sway bar kit, LSD rebuild to Porsche Motorsport spec, clutch slave cylinder rebuild, Voltphreaks lithium battery, CUP R&P (stock included) and Gearbox re-gear with Porsche Motorsports gears and CUP R&P.

Paint is all original and in excellent condition with the exception of some rock chips in various places. DME report is strong with only 197 range 1 ignitions and 9 range 2 ignitions. I also have leak down and compression test results, which were both excellent. Car is garage kept and babied under my ownership, as I have never tracked it since I've owned it.

Crazy that this car essentially doubled in price in 3.5 years. When it was listed before it had buckets and original seats included.

And that the seller is comfortable stating “I have never tracked it since I’ve owned it”

I'm comfortable believing the seller's statement. looks to have been fully modified by the original owner and the seller didn't do much with it except to add 5,000 miles in 5 years.

I have a hard time imagining that it does nearly $200k. Poverty dash, sofa seats, and yellow calipers with steel rotors would be enough for me to look for a different car in that price range. I'd probably rather save up some more money an look for a slightly clapped out RS
