Saw this Kermit .1 RS at Porsche Monterey. Talked to the GM who said the car was on display, but owner would possibly sell for the right price. Car has 11k miles, PCCB, full leather, and some aftermarket carbon fiber bits. May sell it for $350k.
Was for sale in 2012 with 3k miles, nomex CGT bucket seats, and a rollbar for $120k.
I really liked the 18-way…but I will say I did a 3 hour drive last weekend in the buckets and they were surprisingly supportive, thought my back might hurt but it didn’t

Likewise - I did ~2k miles in 10 days in the buckets in my .2 and loved them - thought they were very supportive and found them just as comfortable as the Pole Positions in my other car and actually find them more comfortable than the SRDs in my M3. I think I'm in the minority in that buckets were the only option I specifically looked for!
Saw it driving by this morning. For some reason Porsche Monterey website hangs up easily. Same with Bay Area Jeep dealers. Missing out on sales from people trying to do everything but get some work done,
A high mileage (driver quality) Kermit is my absolute grail! Does anyone know of any? Every single one that has come up in the last few years seems to be collector grade
I'll add my take on GT2 folding buckets, if they didn't sit so high, I'd absolutely have a set, although I'd have purchased them years ago for $10k not today for $20k which I think is way too much money. The way that buckets change the entire experience of a car is surprising. From the second you get in the car, it feels more special. Then you're locked into a set of seats when you're actually driving it. The first 997 GT3 I rode in had a set of buckets, so I'm partial to them for that reason as well. I also appreciate the customization options with different inserts.
But I'm 6'5". I fit perfectly in my 911 with sport seats and most 911s. But the buckets sit incredibly high to me. I haven't been able to try a set with lowering brackets, but I think that I'd need lowering brackets and a lot less foam in the seat in order to get them where I'd want them. It isn't just headroom but also closeness of knee to the steering wheel. I'd need to shuffle steer in order to drive the car which I find annoying. Luckily the standard sport seats in the 997 GT3 are fantastic, hold you in well and are comfortable.
Now, if we start talking about the 991 GT3 fixed buckets, those are another story, those are among the best seats I've ever tried in a car. I know a member here has retrofitted the 992 GT3 buckets into their car and that is likely the option I'd go if/when I'd be willing to spend the money on a set of seats like that.

I’ve had the 997 variant, Recaro Pole Positions, and have RoW folding buckets now.
The RoW definitely sit lower than the standard 997 folding buckets. If your car has heated seats, that’s a massive bonus as well since the RoW seats have it integrated.
I have done multiple 10+ hour stints in all 3 seats and the RoW version with the heat is unbeatable for me. (6ft ~175lbs). If I was looking again I would 100% pay an extra $10k for those seats but it wouldn’t make or break the car for me. Obviously this is all subjective. The sport seats are great as well but imo the fixed buckets in the newer cars are way too wide and the easy access to the back area of the car is immensely convenient.

I'm with you on the newer buckets. I absolutely still find them comfortable and they look great but they were definitely designed with more generous clientele in mind
I find the folding buckets hug me a little better and still having easy access to the rear compartment is a huge benefit
