I honestly can't wrap my head around it. I hope the winner doesn't get cold feet and walk once the dust settles. By the time it's all said and done someone will spend over $300K on this car and it's got the wrong seats in it. Also not sure this result will translate into higher values for all 997 GT3s. Good showing for BAT though pulling in this type of interest (and $).

I'm surprised that it went for so much as well. But if you have the cash and want to keep the car for a long time you aren't likely to ever find another one in this color. And ownership history didn't hurt either. Hopefully the new owner comes here to show it off at some point.

I haven’t seen this kind of drama over a GT3 since a few months ago when someone came on here and lied about their interaction with pcarmarket, got called out and exposed in a video complete with audio recording, and then promptly deleted their account afterwards. Man that was great.

True - but it's a solid $100K premium for paint essentially. I'm not in the same league with the final bidders obviously, but that is quite something. Overall, awesome color and auction! Safe to say i was wrong thinking money was being left on the table due to the seats and wheels not being correct.

Holy cow. Just seeing the results now. A base GT3 with 14k miles for almost $285k. I thought it would be a decade before we saw numbers like that.

I heard a rumor that a PTS RS 4.0 transacted not too long ago for $1.6 million.

Friedman said that the sold his Pastel Orange 4.0 in the 7 figures. Wonder if that's the same car.

Not positive, but don’t think it’s the same car. Think that Pastel Orange car you are referring to sold a year or two ago, but I remember him saying it was for 7 figures. Don’t even think that car would even be the most valuable Pastel Orange 4.0 (there are 3) as I know of one with delivery miles.

was that the real reason though? or you just didn't love it? \

I remember it was listed for $290k ish when you bought it, so selling for $290K wouldn't have been a windfall, unless you paid way under asking when you bought it. not criticizing, just trying to understand the unusually frequent quick turn arounds for some of these cars without much mileage while the narrative is that this is the best driver;s car known to man and values are going to $1 million ;-)

Will be selling the Folding Carbon buckets out of it and putting in Nomex Carrera GT seats.

I also have the stock sport seats that came with the car. I’m open to selling those also.

Both at full market pricing, ofcourse.
Oh man it was you who bought it! I was about to move on it this weekend if all looked good. They also offered to restore it to its original black/orange spec.

Enjoy it in good health and if you part with it anytime soon, let me know .
