Back when I've been involved with event as this. The track stewarts would hold you in pit lane until they had info of who came off the track and maintaining whichever number of cars they deemed appropriate on a hot track.

They cant all drive all day. No point by, no beginners, so no trains. Plenty of open track at other DM events.

Best event for the money I have ever attended and most of us agree on that.

If we travel far, we want as much track time as possible. I just hope there is fuel near the pit, so I dont lose too much time gassing up. Last event we drove 700 track miles in 2 days. Figure a tank every 70/80 miles in a 4.0..

We will also appreciate the ones before us laying down some rubber :-)

•Passing will be permitted anywhere on the race track. Although "point-by" signals are always recommended, they are MANDATORY in corners. This rule will be strictly enforced.

after the first 20 minutes it seems like there is only about a dozen or so cars on the track - never any traffic. We had about 70 or 80 at VIR, and I have done more than 20 days at VIR in last 3 years, and I have never seen so much open track as with DMTD at VIR.

Look for hotels around the airport IMO.

This track is HUGE, and this many cars will not be an issue, for the reasons Clarke says.

This track is also much more difficult than it looks--to learn and to drive. And Peter is correct, some of the corners will appear painfuully slow in street-based cars.

It appears I will be working with one registrant on the first day. Not sure if he interested in sharing for that day or not. However, either way, I am available for the second day, and there are no travel or lodging costs for me, since I live 40 minutes away...

If I was going I would ask David to start the day with run groups to space cars out

80 cars (and the last VIR some would never make a solo sign off) and most everybody wanting to get on the track to figure it out.....

Most David Murray attendees are VIR natives. They already know teh track so it flow pretty good. When Peter, Erika nd I went in 2011 the flow was much better

Either way have fun, COTA looks challenging......you guys can have our data / video to study

they did no such thing at VIR in September - and it was not needed anyway

the crowd on track is going to be at the MVP event where you have segmented groups and everyone lines up for their 30 minute run -- there will be nice long trains to drive through for the first few laps. At DMTD's there is a constant stagger of cars going on track so never a big group bunched up all together. I have no preference either way as I like dicing thru traffic at segmented/group events.

As you may have noticed some people have a reading comprehension problem.

Unfortunately 911SLOW is right here. That bloody hotel in Gstaad wouldn't take a post-dated Drachma check as collateral.

Anything else I can do for you?

This looks like a blast, be happy that I won't be there to kick your ar$es.. Imagine trying to explain to your fans around the world, how the world famous TRAKCAR lost a lap from a SLOW moderator.
Impossible!

Happy holidays you all , have fun and stay safe!

Someone asked about hotels closer to the track, the answer is yes! So start with the ones at the airport and work out from there. Some are cheap and some are very expensive. So pick your poison. There are real nice ones downtown.

I like the hotel mentioned because it is out of the Austin pricing structure. And with the major toll road right to the track, 19 miles is 12-15 minutes in the morning.

Hotel options?? I did not see any names. Is there a place most people are going to?

I will stay where peter and randy go because I know it will have a bar there....

Tough for me to make this date. I get back from visiting the folks in Oz 2 days before. That wouldn't be so bad except I get home from the 48 hours of Sebring 2 days before I leave for Oz.

Looks like I gotta wait a year.
