David Murry just confirmed this evening within the last 24 hours COTA is good to go with our track day in March.

This Is a cut from the other string that i posted on

Guys. If the events are cancelled I can get the track at TWS for two or three days and replace this event. Can probably do some work with the promoteres and get a two or even three track deal. But I'm still thinking that COTA does not need this bad press, or the potential lawsuits from not only the promoters but people that signed up and made commitments like the guy here that sold a car to buy a trailer.

Let's hold on this as a group but if it's true then I think some organized phone calls, emails and same to the local press and the Govenors office of economic development which funded over 20 million intot his porject would be the next step. If your in for this then please hold for now pm me and we will try and coordinate only if it's necessary.

I would be interested in a Thursday TWS event before the NARRA event to make it an even 4 days. Other than that I doubt I'm coming all the way down there twice unless COTA is involved.

I am getting reports via email from friends that confirm the rumors - COTA is cancelling all DE's. I will try to make some calls/emails to the COTA dude that we were dealing with... if all this is true then David Murry will refund everyone in full (DMTD has not sent a dime yet to COTA).

David confirmed this morning on his facebook page that he still has not heard from COTA and is moving forward as if his date is still on.

That means that everyone from MVP should register and pay DMTD asap so he can insure the event. As DM has stated if a cancellation does occur there will be a full refund.

Life's to short, screw me once COTA shame on you I wont support or give COTA a 2nd chance. I can find other places to spend the $4k I just saved.

+1......... Certainly not taking off work, driving 14 hours spending premium money to drive that track after this.

If everything else is cancelled, I doubt they will allow DM to use the track either. Sounds like they only want to host small, very expensive, exclusive events.

Or they are changing their fee structure....and weekends are 50k per day...at three days that's 150 for MVP...our paid cost won't cover that. Explains why David Murray is so much for two days

COTA press release...full of bull****:

Circuit of The Americas’ statement on track rental program

Circuit of The Americas™ today set the record straight on the venue’s track rental program and responded to questions raised in social media forums about the program’s future direction. “Circuit of The Americas currently offers a track rental program for organizations and clubs and private individuals that provides automotive enthusiasts with a world-class experience at the United States’ only purpose-built Formula 1™ facility,” Circuit spokesperson Julie Loignon said. “We have had inquiries and discussions with a number of organizations that are interested in renting our facility, and we’ve determined that we will not be able to work with all of them in the coming year. We have contacted organizations that did not have fully executed rental agreements to inform them of our decision. We regret not being able to assist them with a track rental in 2013 and hope there are other ways we can accommodate their interest in Circuit of The Americas in the future.”

According to the Autoweek article trying to help COTA save face, if the organizer has not been contacted, then their event is still on. So if DMTD hasn't cancelled yet, could be safe. Nothing to do with DTMD, but no way I'm going to that.

http://www.autoweek.com/article/2012...NG01/121229952

This almost assures me that someone offered more money for the other dates. They should from now on schedule all dates as sold to the highest bidder at any time up to event.

Etrackday.
