Does Bernie have any ownership in COTA?

Out of respect for the the participants that got screwed on the MVP date, even if the DM event is 100.00, I will not be attending.

Screw COTA. Unethical business practice and totally unprofessional. F**king unbelievable. Using public tax money to turn the track into a private club.

I wouldn't go to COTA at this point if they paid me. What they did to MVP and other groups is inexcusable. People committed vacation, time, money to these events and got little notice that they were cancelled. Ask me how I know.

COTA statement...." fully executed rental agreements "

DM was still in the initial stages.

This almost assures me that someone offered more money for the other dates. They should from now on schedule all dates as sold to the highest bidder at any time up to event.

Etrackday.
Man, what a douchey spin (referring to the autoweek article and their PR person). It's a pet peeve when people try to justify bad behavior by minimizing. Arrogance and greed.

"We sold their date to higher bidders" is more like it. DTMD is mid week so the chances of someone being there in March mid-week is slim. Right now there is a frenzy to get there early in the year so they undoubtedly have a lot of suitors. Unethical business, but capitalism at it's worst.

We should also let whoever "bought" those dates that they will be under scrutiny when they try and claim those weekends.

What does fully executed mean? Didn't COTA already cash their check. What was possibly left to do?

What's the speculation on David Murray?

AUSTIN, Texas (Dec. 22, 2012) – Circuit of The AmericasTM today announced that it would honor track
rentals with four organizations that had booked track days and paid rental fees in advance.
“We are moving ahead with these agreements and contacting clients so they can share this information with their members and customers,” Circuit spokesperson Julie Loignon said. “The executed rental agreements will limit the number of vehicles we have on track at any given time to ensure a fun and safe experience for participants, including any amateur drivers who will be participating. We regret the confusion that was caused as we worked through these issues with our clients and look forward to providing a one-of-a-kind experience to auto enthusiasts coming to Circuit of The Americas through our track rental program.”

Public outrage works.

I signed up for this event today in the wake of the Driver's Edge cancellation, but now that Driver's Edge appears to be back on... I guess I'm just stuck doing two COTA events. Woe is me. Will order another set of cheater HoHos.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there.

Fully executed means: signed by BOTH parties and there was consideration ($1.00 minimum required). COTA probably received the contracts and the check but had yet to sign the contract itself.

Fellas, let's not let some idiot(s) ruin our fun. Someone(s) ****ed up and I am sure they are in a lot of trouble. Maybe even in danger of losing their job(s)...
Let's forget all this nonsense and look forward to running on that track. That track is there for us to enjoy. I can assure that whoever it is that we owe our current anger to, that person(s) will not be at the track when we get there.
Peace and Merry Christmas.

What a load of crap. By depositing the check, and having a contract in hand signed by the renter, many courts would indicate that COTA was bound...whether they physically signed or not
