Yup yup yup!!!

There is a really nice one for sale in the Cup Car section right now, I am actually considering it myself.

New tire contingency rules Hoosier will pay 2 tires for 1st place in class if there are 5 entrants in class and you are on Hoosiers must register with Hoosier before running. If 7 in class then 2nd gets 1 Hoosier. Hoosiers need to be purchased from Performance Tread the on site NASA FL Tire supplier

If the Aero Beetles remove their splitter and wings, they will go faster at Daytona, but they don't research much. I did some other tricks at Daytona that I won't disclose, lesson from my stock car friends from the Pocono area, good for a 2:00 flat at Daytona on Michelin Sport Cups and a Fiat that is supposedly way slower than anything Porsche that says GT3 RS on the back.
I have a trick I will disclose. Purchase a 12 year old cup car for 20 percent of the fiat cost, don't worry about anything other than alignment, and do a 1.58 all day.
I've considered ur idea

Read Post #21 Option 3.

The small problem, nobody has stepped up.

Only a Bimmer has stepped up to a different challenge where we run our "Moving Chicanes" and we do our driving. That's for this Fall, once the Bimmer gets suspension.

Let's do it. We won't regret. I just need to pull a Mooty (it means hide the car at a friend's storage place, if caught driving it mention it is a rental).

At today's prices, the street 996 GT3 has gotten awfully close to the 996 GT3 Cup prices. The parts have gone up and so is labor, so building a stripper out of a 996 GT3 street car costs more (ask Mooty he knows).

AST (aka Moton) is pretty nice kit these days. IMHO, though, go DA now, but treat it like a SA (mess with rebound only, for example). It will (a) cost less, and (b) shorten your learning curve long-run.

NASA-TT at Sebring this fall, your Moving Chicane with suspension, my Moving Chicane with Wing, Splitter, a Diff, and stripped, so we get the same power/weight ratio. and same level of prep.

Ian drives your car, I'll find a Pro to drive my car. I would do the driving against Ian, but he's as fast as a Pro, and I'm 5 secs slower than a Pro.
How about we run NASA TT rules. M3 is now TTC and I believe your Coxster is TTB. TTB is 1.5 sec faster than TTC at Sebring, NASA records, and both records were set in well driven well prepared cars. So since we are comparing cars, not drivers the M3 should get a 1.5 sec handicap. .

Trouble is the remote reservoir AST costs more points than I have in NASA TT.

I hear you. But doesn't AST also make a DA internal reservoir damper, like JRZ does? i could be wrong, but I thought they did.

Agreed, especially for the price. That's a good point about the DA. I've been eyeballing a SA set to replace my current setup on the E46, but the GT3 has become the new blackhole and keeps sucking available funds. My SA Konis need a rebuild bad (I'm running 700#/800# springs), and I want to run slightly higher rates, but can't with them. Actually, with the AST's, higher rates may not be necessary with such an upgrade on the actual shock. Makes more sense to replace them at this point, I've more than gotten my money out of them.
