Thanks for clarifying the RED ROCK CASINO as the scene of the crime. As I was considering a trip to LV soon I know where I won't be going now...

here I am trying to decide which GT3 to buy and you lose your new prized GT3 only to be destroyed. What a terrible terrible story. I hope they can catch this person and hang him by his cahoonies......

Sounds like this guy didn't just come across the car and steal. He knew it was there, and made a be-line towards it. How did he know it was there? Wasn't it parked far away from everyone else?

Top notch criminal or not, it's pretty much impossible to walk through a modern casino without being seen by multiple cameras. They are everywhere.

Of course, but I have to think a real pro would throw on a hat, keep his head down, put a hand in front of his face, etc...

From reading this thread I will say that you are the most likely suspect (as was I in the previous post I made) - very difficult to steal new GT3, young & poorly dressed person in picture, torched car providing no benefit to the person taking it.
In the detectives defense they simply will have no case unless they find the photo'd person or you either confess, have holes in your version or either fail or the results are inconclusive. Many times a person also confesses after taking a polygraph so they also have that to hope for.

I dunno if this might help but GIAC's programming for 997tt's has a "kill/theft" mode setting that shuts off the ECU and prevents theft. Not sure whether it is defeatable but it can't hurt. They have GT3 programming too.

Sorry about your loss. That is really terrible.
I find it ridicuous that some here ridicule the police for investigating a crime from every angle. Unfortunately, the stats reveal a high level of insurance fruad especially in a down economy. Although, there are professional devices designed to facilitate stealing a late model high end auto, the instances of such crimes are rare. So, it is only natural for the police to consider the owner as a suspect.
Obviously, some here know the owner and can likely attest to his level of honestly, but to be frank, at first glance things appear a bit suspicious. No insult intended to the OP as I don't know you. I wish you the best in getting to the truth.

Who drove the car into the garage on 8-5-2009 at 8:06 pm??
If that punk in the pic's is the guy that stole the car then he must of had a key! How bad was the car burned? If the PAS(porsche alarm system) control unit is not damaged, then you could possibly see what key started the car last.
