I've seen a few 997.2 dealer posts mentioning a car has the X51 Carrera S Powerkit, but each time i've run the VIN, the option doesn't show up on the options list (see link below for example).
Was the X51 a factory option on the 997.2? If so, does it show up on the options list?
I've never seen the X51 listed as an option on a 997.2 build sheet. if it was a factory option, it must have been very rare.

Long time super-lurker here. I have started searching for a 997.2 myself and came across this one not too far from me.

The miles are a little high for me liking and it isn't a 6-speed but the price doesn't look bad at all and it is at a Porsche dealership so I can kind of trust that it is a better condition model.

So far that thing looks like an awesome car. Miles is up for the buyer to decide, a 997.2 c4s is expensive either way.
Schedule of maintenance on carfax looks like owner cared. Controls arms etc.

The two things holding me back are the transmission and 4 wheel drive.
Don't get me wrong. My wife's Macan shifts like a video game. I couldn't believe how good it was. But the fact that most dealers and shops treat it as a replace no repair part makes me hesitate a bit. Granted after a hefty bill I'd get a brand new transmission which would be good for a while.
4 wheel drive is not quite necessary for my climate. If I took it back Northeast sure.
Ideally I wanted a C2S 6SPD but this happened to show up and it is equipped almost perfectly and priced well.

You don't notice the 997.2 C4S has AWD till it detects slip and kicks in, even then it's no big deal and you really don't feel it. THe C4S comes with the LSD included....It feels more planted than a 2S, some might say its a heavier feel. The 997.2 tranny is the same as the turbo model. If you are just driving around most of the power goes to the rear wheels. If needed it can load the back/front to almost any ratio.

I would not give up manual for a first-year PDK. It noticeably improved by now.

Unless you are going to track the car a lot and (a) care about the extra weight and/or (b) want that back-weighted, drift style feeling, you're not going to complain about the AWD.... At least that's my experience. YMMV.

Thanks for the clarification and anecdotes about the C4S handling. Definitely will consider it more strongly or at the very try and find one to test drive.

It really doesnt cost that much to have it done at the dealer, although it may need a new pan for that model year. It can be a DIY and I will be doing mine next time around. Someone has already diy a pdk transmission fluid change. It is a little complicated, but definitely can be done without the PIWIS

M1a1mg > if you are talking about the white cabrio, I had a PPI dome at Matrix Integrated. Unfortumately, I had decided against the car by the time the PPI was done so I didnt get a copy. Grand Prix should have a copy. The only thing that stood out was a RMS seep. PASM wasnt working, but I think they got that workimg by resetting it. Not sure if that is a red flag. Lot of wear on some of the interior *****. Thats about all I remember.
