If so you may have dodged a bullet. I would not trust that dealer.

This is going to be blasphemy here, but I decided to skip the 997 for now and am buying a BMW M2 Competition, which does everything I was expecting and wanted in a 997 with a little less drama and more warranty, etc.
I missed out on a great .1 a few weeks ago. It was white with Sport Classic wheels, PSE and SC, and miles in the mid 20s. It sold for just around $64k with fees. Still kicking myself.

The reality is these newer M cars feel like riced out family sedans with a bunch of bolts . . . because they actually are. Horrible suspension and damping, horrible seating position, horrible steering and brake pedal fell, squirly and the worst traction control for street driving of any car on the road.

Despite the mileage this seems way too cheap but who knows ... someone might find a bargain:

Good luck with that. I purchased a Nee 2017 M3 Manual Competition Package and that car was the biggest POS I have ever owned. I got where I never drove it as it was such a miserable driving experience. I used to take the keys to my wife’s 997 base over that car. The M2 is just mini me version of that same disaster.

If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all. I mean ..... Jesus Christ...who does that? To directly insult another Rennlister's new purchase is bizarre. The dude just bought it. What if it was your car? Something's wrong with you.
Assuming your in Bali now please tell them you're Canadian so we don't reinforce the stereotype of an American attorney.
Congrats on the M2. It's really what the M3 should have been IMHO before they grew it much like what happened when the 991 grew in size. No doubt a kick in the ***. That's the fun part about cars. There's a wrench for every nut.

You can’t beat the price for 405 hp.
But new CSs are near impossible to get and get without ADM, too. Used are available but usually at or above MSRP. Plus, I don't plan to track it so I don't need the best.
So I started looking at the M2 Competition model. I also asked a friend (who I met here on RL and who knows a ton about these cars, meaning P cars and BMWs and more) and his comment was that the CS was not worth the extra dough. And for my use case, I don't need the best and really preferred to keep budget around $60k (hence desire for 997).
I have a GT4 and a 993 (and feel very fortunate) and was looking for a sporty MT with back seats I can drive around anywhere. Any Porsche (911 or Cayman) is always a statement and sometimes I like to be less flashy. An M2 does this for the most part.
Plus, the 997 market is nuts now and I don't want to buy into this market, when the same cars were selling for $10k - $25k less just six months ago. And I am seeing a lot that are nothing special (boring colors and high-ish miles) for more than I want to pay.
I found one of the last allocations for an M2C and can buy it at MSRP (and they are not making it next year). Granted, six months ago M2Cs could be had for 3%-8% off MSRP, but now used ones are asking MSRP or more. So even if I don't like it, I am hoping to be able to get out relatively unscathed.
For sure I will report back.

What caught my eye was reviews of the M2 CS (CS is kinda like the RS version of GT cars) and some reviewers preferring it to a 718 GT4 (but only slightly). The point is, it's a great car.

I just watched a couple reviews. I was not aware they were stopping production of the M2. I like a small form factor, having owned a 2002 back in 1980 and an E46 M3 and loving them both, the M2 is the natural descendant.
I'd buy one except living in So Cal there are two things you can count on: Potholes and traffic. For DD I need a compliant suspension and no 3rd pedal. My Alfa QV has been amazing in filling that need. But the M2 is bad-***.

that’s the one these guys are total clowns .... it’s a real shame they have such amazing inventory.... rare colors, well optioned cars, what seems like really choice examples. Their attitudes and shady practices ruin everything. I want to support a local business, sucks when you have a **** experience.
