they may need to be sized down to fit…but it’s not slammed. I still scrape on my driveway
People who machine parts generally know, but I'll say it here anyway ... never metal on metal. Things slide off when it's metal on metal. You'll want to add a hockey puck (or the likes) between those adaptors and your jack stands.

Nice job BTW!!!!
the adaptors have a nub in the top-center that keep it in place at the Jack points. The base sits inside the quick-Jack lift which is enclosed on all sides. Otherwise I totally agree. Once friction fails things can get violent.
Bought this a few weeks ago and just did the following last week. Winter tires, straightened a wheel, oil/filter, diff fluid for both front and back, plugs, new brakes/rotors/pads in rear, PDK oil & flush, new wipers, cabin filter, BMC filters.
this week it’s a tune and a sharkwerks center muffler …
BUT now I have an odd squeak from the engine area, maybe engine mounts?
@Rhern213 ,
Any issue with H2O inundation?
I know it rains big time in FL, and that paper looks quite absorbent.
I recall seeing some kind of "sock" protector for ducktails that admit more moisture than OEM 997 engine covers.
I haven't opened it again to check but I did put the top cover back on so I don't think it would be any different than OEM. Also it's not my daily driver so I don't really take the car out if it's actively raining.
Did a few things:
- Zunsport grilles
- GT2 sideskirts
- Aero front lip (replica)
- Cabin and Engine filters
More to come over the winter.
Looks and hopefully less muck in there - Zunsport grilles Subtle but effective - GT2 Skirts OEM+ - Aero Lip (ebay) Packages under the car indicate how much more there is to do this winter.
Took delivery on my Magnafin stone guards today. Thanks Shane they look great. Waiting for nicer day to install them. Thanks for the courtesy magnetic Porsche crest as well.
Installed Cargraphic Sport Cat X-Pipe with 200 cell cats as well as a Flat 6 Motorsports intake tube and cap for the stock airbox. Car has never sounded better! I might ditch the URO semi-solid engine mounts though, still a lot of NVH coming through, probably too much for the wife.
Also attempted to install transmission inserts from Function First, but ECS sent me the wrong ones. They were great about it and sent the replacements but won't arrive for awhile. The wrong ones are for 'sale' in the Classifieds now, by donation since they didn't cost me anything other than an hour under the car removing and reinstalling the transmission mounts.
Over past couple of weekends:
1). Installed winter wheels & tires (Pirelli Sottozero)
2). Changed oil (Liqui Moly 5W-40) plus a can of LM Mos2 Engine Lubricant
3). Finally installed Function First Shift Right Solution. Bought this as combo with shifter cable ends Black Friday sale. Installed the cable ends a few weeks ago. Install went according to plan per the good instructions provided on the FF website, Typical (minor) frustrations getting all the trim pieces removed to get access to shifter housing, I had a tough time getting the shifter cables dislodged from the shifter cradle. And even with spring clip pliers it took several tries to get the retaining clips on the bushings. I used a shifter alignment tool before inserting the cables into the cable ends. I had marked their position before removing. One cable went in same as it had come out, the other was a couple of ‘rings’ different. Took a 40 minute test drive and pleased with results. All shifts are smoother and more direct. 1st is still tight on some shifts, but much better than before. Any ‘knotchiness’ that was present before the FF SRS install has been eliminated.
So for less than $400 the SRS and cable ends have made a material improvement. Not earth-shattering improvement, but noticeable. As rowing through the gears was a primary reason I had for getting my 911 I like spending money on improvements that I engage with so directly.
I had the 80,000 mile servicing done in December and they had recommended changing the PDK oil based on age so I went ahead with that. Driving around all day after picking it up but it suddenly started running rough and losing power and had an error code that indicated something with the transmission so I pulled it over and parked while I researched the problem (dealership had just closed). It started up and ran fine after about 10-15 minutes but I babied it home and garaged it. Dealership wanted to look at it but cautioned against driving it until they inspected so today was the first chance I had to get it towed in. I'm hoping it's something simple ...
