Decided to paint the center console (long project) and tackle my 160 thermostat Replacment (also long project). Slow moving reaching 25 on the vacuum side before filling the coolant. Glad to have that out of the way. Airlift 550000, bought on Amazon works fantastically- as others have mentioned on the form.
No I think the wheels are all the same color... house is on a mountain side so there is a rock wall off camera to the right that casts some shadow maybe? Other car is a friend's 718
Finally got around to wiring up the MOST HUR and installing the basic, single-DIN Alpine head unit to replace the broken PCM my car came with.
While the radio was out, I took apart the climate control module and replaced the sticky buttons.
I still had some free time, so I pulled the console out and installed the Numeric shifter that was sitting on my workbench.
Interior is back together (with no extra screws!) and everything works great. There's now a single head unit with modern capability (USB, Bluetooth, etc.) and no screen in the car (I get enough screentime at work).
I know this is over a year ago, but I'm about to do the same thing and it seems few have. Did you use a wire harness and dash kit to make this happen, Crutchfield or other?
I have a 997.1 Carrera with Bose. No steering wheel controls.
I finally got around to replacing my engine mounts. Went with the VNE kit from FCPEuro. (BlackFriday sale - $285!)
Wow… what a difference. I had 83k miles on the original and they were long over due. What a difference it made. Car is so smooth and feels fresh and almost like new.
If you are thinking about doing this, just do it! Cheap and easy to do yourself! I wish I had done it earlier!
@Rhern213 ,
Any issue with H2O inundation?
I know it rains big time in FL, and that paper looks quite absorbent.
I recall seeing some kind of "sock" protector for ducktails that admit more moisture than OEM 997 engine covers.
