I think the lobster fork wheels have aged so well, were hated back when they first came out, looks great!

Went back to the original 997.1 Sport Steering Wheel - re-wrapped from Dallas Custom Steering Wheel - 1/8" padding, #9002 grey alcantara - thanks Donald! Impeccable work and quality.

The previous 991.2 Steering Wheel conversion was a fun mini project, I ultimately decided that the design features were too sharp and better suited for later generations. The thicker padding and smaller diameter 997.1 Sport Steering Wheel feels great in my hands, and looks perfectly at home now.

Looks great. I was under the impression that the newer steering wheels, e.g., 991, Macan, were a smaller diameter than the 997.1 sport wheel. Is that not the case?

Thanks! The diameter of 997.1 sport wheel was smaller when I held it up against the 991.2 one during install, I’ll follow up with a picture.

There’s also a GT version of the 991.2 wheel that may be comparable in size, haven’t found any exact measurements on the forum however

I just installed the GT 991.2 version and it was about 1.5” smaller diameter than my 997.2 wheel.

Had to adjust my steering wheel height to see the top of the tach.

This is great information. I've been curious about the new gen steering wheel as i have it in my Macan. But i really think the Sport steering wheel is perfect, love mine. That Triangle one though is no bueno!
