New Soul sport headers and crossover, in silver ceramic coating! (Thanks to everyone and Soul and Atlanta Speedwerks for making it all work.) I'll try to get some good audio and post it here soon. Sounds awesome! [the LN/BILT deep sump pan is background. Black anodized and turning a cool purple now :-)
sorry for my ignorance but what does the deep sump do and why is it necessary or recommended? I have seen it and some of u talk about it many times but havent got around to ask what the purpose of it is.
btw it seems to be sitting dangerously low to the ground. Am i seeing it wrong?

prevents oil starvation when pulling Gs in corners.. the oil pan isn’t low but that driver side header looks to be.. there is a shadow that is throwing off the oil pan.

Nice. I'd protect that with the LN stainless skid plate too. It's a quality piece unlike the OEM aluminum one.ans has a nice opening for oil filter access, at least on the 997.1.
Last Friday on Tail of the Dragon this oncoming Chevy lost the rear and saved the spin, but was 90% in my lane by the time he did. This is as close as 2 cars can be without actually hitting.
Photographer Killboy actually captured the whole encounter.
Wow! I drove on a Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 and saw hardly any traffic. I would’ve lost my mind since I was bringing mine home on my second day of ownership when I went.
Dang Pete.. impossible to replace your beauty. Glade it worked out.
How did the Chevy driver react.. was he appolgitic or..?
Since there wasn't any contact, neither one of us stopped. Well, he may have, but I didn't since I was in the Dragon Rally group and there were a bunch of us together.

Yes, it is low, but so far, using lots of curbs at Barber, Road Atlanta and Road America (lots of them), so far no nicks on the pan. Hoping I can keep from flattening the header pipes now!! On "why" it is pretty simple: 2.5 quarts of additional oil provide a) increased heat sink, b) the pick-up in the baffled area is much deeper by a lot, so more reliable baffle action and much less chance of oil starvation under g-loading, c) runs cooler generally by a bit. Basically, I did it to enhance reliability and help the oil cooling system function better. Still thinking of adding the LN/BILT XL motor oil cooler to replace stock, but it is a big job to get to it, .
