Installed the X97 Aluminum / Leather shift ****. It’s heavier than the stock **** and feels real nice. Solid aluminum. Gonna install the handbrake one day when I do a short shift kit or have to replace the shift cables. Too lazy to do it now.

Are you replacing the entire handbrake assm or just the end pieces? No real need to replace the entire assm. The end and leather cap snap off and snap back on your existing brake assm. Only takes a moment.

Thanks, yeah, I know I can just remove and replace the hand portion but the thing is the aluminum unit has a nicely stitched rear portion too as well as the lower metal portion that is aluminum instead of grey color like the stock unit, and so if I do the switch, I want to swap the whole unit. I have a friend who’s done these already so he’ll help me do the full swap in the Spring. Thanks for the info though.

Early on after getting my 997.2 I realized like many do, that the car needed to sound like more of what the car is - a sports car. So the quest began to seek out an answer to the question of which system is the right one for me. My brother, who's has been a Ferrari owner for many years, told me to look into what Tubi might offer for the 911. After reading as much as I could (and numerous positive accounts on this forum), Tubi looked like a great option. I just could not get past the price of a Tubi system though...
So I investigated an alternative route - the Fister muffler / Sharkwerks solution which I purchased and then installed this past summer.
While there are many things I like about the sound of what I have now, I've not been able to shake the idea of a Tubi system.
Looking through the Marketplace parts section recently, I spotted a set of Tubi mufflers (without the Tubi center bypass unit). Owned by another Rennlist member for about 18 months / 1,500 miles (who ended up selling his '10 C2S that the Tubi units had been installed on.) Seemed to be a great opportunity so I jumped on them.
Overall great shape. Just a little bit oxidized. I am afflicted with an automotive strain of OCD. I've had it for 50 years now. No cure in sight... It's been said that Italians are the artisans of the world. Whoever said that, may have had a Tubi exhaust system... Well, they look great. We'll see how they end up sounding. Way lighter than the stock cans...
I finally got my new-to-me winter wheels put on my 997.2 C4. The photo is mid-switch; the new wheel is in the front. I went with 18s for the winter as opposed to my 19" summer wheel. I found the wheels at a good price on Craigslist with some old winter tires that I'm going to have replaced this week.
Looks great! Let us know if there’s any drone in any of the rev ranges please, and if you like the sound. I’ve seen YouTube videos on these exhausts but you can never really tell from those.

1st post (I think), but I’ve been on here for about a month since I bought my 1st Porsche. 2011 997.2 C4S. This is actually a couple weeks old, but i got 2 stage Paint correction, Feynlab self heal lite ceramic coating, wheels & calipers coated, interior leather steam cleaned & conditioned & all glass polished and ceramic coated. I absolutely LOVE this car 🥰
I fixed the dreaded sticky volume ***** by removing them and cleaning the rubber off with some 99.9% alcohol, worked perfectly. Also picked up a Porsche umbrella for the little spot on the passenger door trim. Installed Cobb AccessPort and Stage 1 tune (for now) and Rennline magnetic phone mount that works great.
WOW! She is gorgeous. I am your 2009 twin just a few miles away in Sandy Springs. My car was rear ended in November, but once I get it back I will be doing a DIY paint correction and Avalon King Ceramic.
Yours came out incredible!

Congrats on the car and that detail/ceramic coating came out amazing!

Certainly will.
Agree with you completely on the difficulty in telling much from the various online videos. Like many others, I'm pretty sensitive to the exhaust sound characteristics under the various driving conditions. Once I have them on the car and have a sufficient chance to evaluate them, I'll reply back with my impressions for whatever that may end up being worth.
