Oil change day yesterday for my 07 997S after a 5400 mile interval. Jacked the rear onto these wheel cradles, which I much prefer to backing onto ramps. I always worry that I’ll back right over ramps since I have a manual and sometimes give it too much throttle/slip clutch too much trying to get it just right. I got 8.3 qts drained out and refilled with Mobil 1 5W-50. Oil filter cut up and thank goodness it had no metal flakes or anything...

Cleaned up my, new to me, headlights. Got these cheaper than the aftermarket 991 headlights so was a no brainier for me.
Started off with a clay bar and then ended using Megs PlastiX, while I was cleaning them I realised that they already have a protective film over them, bonus as I don’t have to instal one.
I’ll have to swap the ballasts and bulbs over, deactivate the self level feature and then get them aligned correctly. I’ll post up of how I got everything working once I’ve got around to fitting them. Before You can see the bug marks, the good thing is film has protected the lens All clean ready for install

that filter looks good. Another good place to look is at the bottom of the oil filter housing. Bad stuff likes to accumulate there.

Took my son for a quick boys drive and then cleaned her up. Washed and clay bared. Then polish and then used Chemical Guys ceramic coating (spray) which I’ve used on my other daily drivers. Also cleaned the interior. Still need to do the headlights but ran out of time today. Overall pretty happy with the finish.

pls update when installed! i have purchased one of these but still need to purchase the other.
this will set your front end on fire - these are the nicest looking 997.2 headlamps - your light output will improve as well with ur current ballasts etc as the lends on the 997.2 headlamp is superior from what I've read

Outstanding. Mine needs a similar treatment badly but it rains almost every afternoon here July through September and with a daily driver like mine you stand a good chance of ruining much or most of hours of work on the car in less than 5 minutes. So the temptation becomes to just live with a dirty car during these wet months and then give it a good work over beginning of October. I do clean the wheels about every two weeks though since I hate the look of break dust and it gets harder to get off if you let it stick for months.

Hey Micheal, I had read the same about the light output. While I like the look of the 991 aftermarket headlights, I just felt that with the drl’s in my turbo bumper and the drl’s in the headlights the front end would look too “Xmas tree esque”
I will update, I might even do a thread on the install and any obstacles.
I’m contemplating installing the Gen 2 front module - which I have - and ordering a new front wiring loom - Don’t happen to have the part number for the wiring loom do you?
I’m in two minds about changing the module to be honest, as with these headlights you loose all functionality-auto level and cornering function, so kind of a waste, but I will see.
I’m still a novice at DIY with my new to me 997.1 but I replaced Air filter and cabin air filter...
I plan to do as much Maintenance DIY as possible....so the sickness begins...thanks to this forum have a lot of resources to do so
Awesome work, always great seeing fellow Porsche owners getting there hands dirty! If you are looking for a nice little upgrade in induction note, next time you service your Engine air filter, consider upgrading to a BMC high flow filter and a cold air upgrade kit. Adds a few ponies and sounds a bit nicer when you step on that accelerator pedal! Any questions, don't hesitate to reach out !
