Went to see my motor before it goes back to its home and see the pile of parts I had replaced

Edit: image orientation was driving me nuts... OCD

great seats! can't wait for the warm weather to get the car out into the mountains.

Great move. You'll love em'. Adds a connectivity with the car that's priceless imo. A little different to get in and out of but becomes a non issue in a matter of days, at least for me. I'm 6'3" tall and I've had them in two 997's now. At first I was a little concerned that they don't tilt. Just move forward and aft but full aft they work just fine for me. A local indy told me there's a fairly simple way of tilting them backwards if that's something you decide you want. Basically just a matter of halfway uninstalling them and adding some washers to to the forward mounting points I was told. I suspect there may be more to it though since he quoted me $550 to do both seats.

Since at 6'3" they give me close to a 100% perfect driving position I often wonder how a much shorter driver deal with them since as I said, they only move forward and aft. No tilt and no up or down. Lastly, some have rather harsh words for the lack of comfort. I couldn't disagree more. Once seated they really hug you and makes you feel like you're part of the car. Not just seated in it. Even my wife loves them.

Did you install the clutch and other parts yourself?

No, although I’m sure could handle a bunch of it now as the motor is on a cart. Labor at that point was cheep as everything is out in the open.

in addition to this we removed the seal from the IMS which requires locking the cams. Bering looked good, although it did have oil in it which is typical and one of the root issues.

Im also install numeric shifter and cables while everything was dropped.

Let me know your impressions of the Numeric did the cables and shifter a few months back really transforms the driving experience.
Takes a bit to relearn where 1st and 2nd is, as the handle is straight not offset like the stock.

Changed the oil and filter. Went with a 50/50 blend of Mobil1 0W-40 and 5W-50 with 1 can of LM Mos2 this time around instead of just M1 0W-40. Seems to run smoother but that seems to happen every time you get fresh oil in any car. Sent oil sample off to Blackstone to see how things are progressing and looking forward to sending the next one off next year to see how this change in lubricants goes.

Thanks. I've only tested them out so far, driving the car back into the garage after fitting them. They seem great, and although I'm only 5'10" the seating position seems perfect. I did read about the trick using washers to change the alignment. I will have to get some driving in to be sure, but I think its great for now. It does make the car closer to what my ideal would be for its focus.

Default nothing to see here...

nothing to see here...literally: new OEM windshield installed this week. The heavily pitted glass I had was super distracting with the low angle sunshine this time of year. The OEM glass is noticeably cleaner looking at the shaded edges and top tint relative to the non-OEM glass I had, plus my seals were tired. Big quality of life improvement.

Just sitting down in the bucket with your back right up against the back of the seat is a tad too upright for me. Not a big deal but I came close to doing the washer thing. Then I found that sliding just a little bit forward in the seat basically has the same effect as a slight tilt backwards. Perfection now with no modification. Try it in the chair you're sitting in now. Has the same effect in the car with no adverse comfort issues, at least not to me.

Finaly got my new to me 997 up on the lift for some maintenance. I replaced the entire upper aos, motor mounts, flused the power steering and did spark plugs with updated coils. While I had the plugs out I scoped the bores and all looked great (90k miles) I can sleep well at night now! To celebrate I threw on the soul sport cats I picked up in the classifieds. Sounds soooooo good now.

Ok, maybe a bit immature (I haven’t grown up, just gotten older), but hit 42069 miles on the odometer so had to get a photo.

Installed gt3 shifter bushings, shimmed the rod, and shimmed the lever.
