Thanks for the info. I figure I'm probably on borrowed time having not changed the tank on either of my 05s yet, so will likely be doing this sometime in the near future, especially on the obesity with 105k miles.
Please do share some photos on the jackpoints on the engine as I might tackle this as well.
Replaced my chrome windshield washer nozzles with gloss black ones from Suncoast (perfect match). Easy job thanks to some posts on Rennlist. For $50 and about 20 minutes, a nice (should have been factory) upgrade. Interestingly, Suncoast shows these as just the caps, but I received the entire nozzle assembly with the painted caps installed.
LDS Church is one of my customers for the high-speed digital paper handling equipment I sell. They use it to digitally print monochrome (black & white) bibles in multiple languages without having to maintain inventory.
Very cool. Yes the LDS church prints a lot of King James’s versions of the Bible and many Books of Mormon. I think it is up to publishing those two books in 110 languages now. Thanks for your work. It has definitely made the world a better place.
i had two jacks under the pan and carefully lowered it probably and inch past the threads. That made all the difference. It came out really easy after that.
This isn’t my picture, but it shows where to jack it up if you have one jack. If you have two, and I would suggest you borrows a friends if you only have one. Place one at each corner of the oil pan closest to the bumper. Also make sure you get the latest coolant tank. There is a lot of new old inventory out there. You want 996.106.057.03.
Changed oil and filter. Mobil 1 0w40 and took ~ 7.8 quartz for the gauge to get the middle bar to lid and I stopped there.
i did the same thing yesterday and at exactly 8 quarts it was to the full bar on the gauge. The over the limit oil bar was not on so I know it is not over filled. I like to keep mine full when I fill the oil. It only went down 1 bar in like 6,700 miles so oil consumption is minimal.
well I went through about 1k worth of posts in this thread & could not find anything on FRONT MUD FLAPS (even the advanced RL search within a single thread doesn't really work)
Background: Many of us with 964's have installed these front mud flaps right behind the front wheels. They greatly reduce the amount of rash we get on our rear hips.
I'm wondering if anyone makes a mud flap ( Pelican calls them stone guards for the 964. part # 965.559.615.01 and 965.559.616.01 ) but for our 997's
Pics... (the red car is the 964. .... Then I did a test fit of 964 mud flap on the Blue 997.2, but as you can see the curvature is wrong...)
Did the Scorch Chrono(TM) upgrade yesterday.
Today was getting it completely covered in dust, grime, and bug guts going from Austin, TX to Hope, AR.
It was not a fun drive. But hey! The rain-sensing wipers work fine. And so does the traction control when the front axle hydroplanes.

Blend in nicely
Do you have the link? I can't seem to find the painted ones lol!
They only come in gloss black, matte black and primer. Fortunately for me the gloss black was a prefect match. Here's the link
As I mentioned, mine came as complete nozzles with the caps attached while Suncoast says the are just caps. They bags the came had Porsche P/N, 970 628 251 00
1st things I’ve done since getting my car...swapped the interior lights to LED over the long weekend and got my new “GTS” Lloyd’s mats today...add just a touch of red

Nice. I need to get those mats to complete the red/black thing I've got going on inside. Red gauges, red belts and red stitching/strip on the steering wheel. Question: I bought a set of Lloyds mats 5-6 years ago and they used a weird and frankly useless fastening system consisting of some wimpy clips that attached to the bottom of the seats somehow. Can't remember the exact design and install but whatever it was, it didn't work. The mats kept coming lose just about every time I got in and out of the car. Lived with it for a while but trashed them fairly soon thereafter and just bought a new OEM set. Are they still using these plastic clips to hold them in place?

They do, I didn’t install them...planned to get something for the bottom to make it stick to the OEM Velcro pads in the floor
