As part of my plan to incrementally swap out "grand tourer" and replace it with "sports car" on my TT, I had a GT2 rear sway bar installed. It definitely does a nice job of tightening and planting the rear and giving the car more of a RWD feeling. Haven't been too aggressive with it yet but it seems like it put a little more hair on the Turbo's chest.

Edit: Over a week later and I'm definitely loving it. Not really much added harshness, and the car feels more solid in general.

I agree on the velcro for 997. I'm only a 997 owner for 3 weeks now, so forgive me. 964's did not use velcro, and they had horrible hold-downs in the late 80's / early 90's, so maybe that's where the discourse arrived in this conversation. In my case, clip straps were better than nothing.

Now we can agree, no Lloyd for 997's. GOT it. Thanks for the info!!

No need to apologize. Seems like we got the issue sorted out which is what we want, right?

Installed RSS engine mounts. Stock ones were maybe a little sagging, but not bad. It definitely feels more like a sports car.

I have the RSS engine mounts too. They definitely are a step up compared to stock. The stock version indeed muffs the engine noise, but the RSS give a distinct raspy sound which I prefer.

Nice list of upgrades. It’s a 997.1? Any video clips of the fvd exhaust setup. It must be ear bleeding loud. CEL with those headers?
I spy ohlins coilovers. Are you running the 4 piston calipers or upgraded to 6 piston as well?

That exhaust sure is pretty to look at but as Presto said, it has to rattle windows nearby. Soundbite?

It is a 997.1 base, and I don't have clips yet, but will after this weekend. It is loud, as expected. Drone is a lot more noticeable, but isn't unbearable. Actually deeper than expected, and the midrange/high rpm benefits feel worth it so far! She only really sees street use for PCA events, C&C etc anyway.

I'm using the same O2 sensor spacers I ran with my previous cat delete pipes (one cel over months of use), so we'll see how happy she is.

Good eye! Car is running Ohlins R&T with GT3 spring rates, and GT3/RS brakes front and rear, 6 and 4 pots.

Finally stopped procrastinating and changed the brake fluid in my 997.1. From the records I have available, it was over 3 years since the last fluid change... oops. It shows.

The process was pretty simple with the Motive power bleeder, don't know why I was dreading it. Just gotta keep the reservoir topped up and it's a breeze.

How does the car performance feel now that you've done that? Looks bad, so I'm assuming the car feels great.

Much more linear and noticeably improved. The brake pedal was quite spongy before the fluid change, and wayyyy worse than my recently acquired 01 SL500, which just had a full brake job w/ fluid. Ultimately that's what led me to finally getting it done this morning.

+1 on the break fluid change just did mine last week, tester shows 2% moisture but looked a bit cloudy in the master.
Now time to figure out why the windshield washers aren't working.

Finished a long overdue paint correction. Was a long day in a 90 degree garage, but pleased with the results. I’m going to get the front bumper re-sprayed so didn’t focus a lot on it.
For the detail geeks -
1 – Clay
2 - Some wet sanding here / there
3 – M105 / Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound (microfiber pad)
4 – M205 (orange cutting pad)
5 – Menzerna Super Finish Plus SF-3800 (white polishing pad)
6 - Pinnacle Souveran Jeweling Wax (red finishing pad)
7 – Optimum Opti-Seal as the topper (this stuff is awesome)
